Mr Torchey
Dog days may never show up. i know it can happen any month of the year but the general set-up right now reminds me of april. that incoming warmth of thursday running into a departing cool air mass...boundary ends up S of NE, and we never warm. -NAO FTW. Fine by me after seeing my electric bill. Good to see things quickly changing as the first ten days of August look sticky and warm, as expected. We can do just fine with temps in the 80s. We had our dog days.

CoastalWx
So you are on record as saying august is going to only have 2-3 warm days? I think August will be above normal again. Whats your take? No, not at all. I think of dog days of 90/70 days. At some point from Saturday or Sunday through maybe Tuesday...we could see one or two more 90+ days. After that, we have bouts of humidity, but also possibly days like the last few where temps were cooler with onshore flow. It's always a tough call when models hang a front up in the long range. A 50-100 mile difference means everything. It's not as clear cut as July, but August may be above normal again.

I think +2 at BOS would be another good starting point for August to wager on..........depending on what happens today.

Just looking crudely at it, I think 78/65 or so would do it.

Ah man, up way too early with Graham this morning, congrats on the doom and gloom up there the last ten days! +2 for August or higher, if you win I will put up a Patriots avatar for the entire month of September, if I win you put up a Jets avatar for September...........deal? LOL, it hasn't been doom and gloom at all. A break from swamp azz is always welcomed. To be honest, I haven't looked at August much. Temps start dropping into the upper 70s by the end of the month and Nina is in no hurry to leave..so the +2 deal is a little more shaky. I'd have to look more. Logan11
August looks like a very different animal from most of July to me. If some stations pull an above normal, it will be because of muggy wx that keeps min. temps up probably. With normal lows dipping steadily, it gets a lot easier to have above normal lows in a humid wx pattern. LOL, it hasn't been doom and gloom at all. A break from swamp azz is always welcomed. CoastalWx
I think starting Saturday or so, it's a summer-like 7-9 days or so coming up. It may not be 90 all the time, but it looks warm on the models through next week.
