Euro and it's ensembles look to build death dome mid country in the longer range. Hard to say but my perception is we go above normal for an extended spell with shorter and shorter breaks 8/3-17.

I agree, we'll get some bouts of warmth and humidity.....but we need to watch that front that wants to hang up nearby. That may cause weather similar to the last few days which is very difficult to see that far out.

Slow, heavy rainers popping up now up and down the Green Mountains. Will be interesting to see how much rain some local spots get. I have been hearing steady thunder for about 10 minutes now.

This has flash flooding written all over it... where some mountain basin gets 3-4" in like 90 minutes and the stream that drains it all goes berserk.

Let's throw up the Scooter severe caution flags for next weekend. It looks warm and humid but I don't see any big heat.

Well it is not a warning just the advisory he advocates.

FFA are usually more of a viable option then FFWs. I think other than the Berks where it's more mountainous and the roads can be rough, we don't really get true FFWs. Heavy heavy rain in an urban area could qualify, but they'll always be the token flooded out area under a train bridge that has poor drainage.

Yeah and those are the ones that you see in LSRs more often than not.

There can be substantial flash flooding from small rivers/streams. We've seen that before here in CT that can wash out roads etc. That kind of stuff is life threatening.

2"-3" of rain in 90 minutes the other day flooded some parking lots and railroad bridges but that was pretty much it.

I also think the public has no idea or cares about flood warnings.

The long range have a heat done in Rockies and plains.

I'm heading for a big family reunion in northern WI 8/15-24. That area needs the dome to feet what we in SNE would consider normal. Heading to the lake Friday night through mid day Wednesday so timing looks good in that as well. Lots of swimming and canoeing plus bagging a few mts if it's not too hot. Hard work now will yield to some sweet times.

Sounds nice. I heard that area is beautiful. When you headed to the Lakes region?

We had to have picked up 1"+ of rainfall in a 45 minute time period with these heavy thunderstorms.

Nice line has developed over the axis of the Green Mountains here and they are in no hurry to go anywhere.

August looks warm Jerry, +2-+5 region wide by months end. September might be an all out torch, time will tell.

BOS down to +2.3 on the month after today's 73/66. We'll have to see if they can lose another degree or two on the low temp as its 67 at 7pm.

I give Scooter about a 75% chance of winning the bet with LL.

Already down to 66F at 00z with 5 hours to go.
