I grew up in Jersey(first 7 yrs of my life) so we always went to Manisquan and i remember the waves/breakers as a kid.

I've never been to OC though. Going with a huge crew of kids and my wife's sister and brother..so should be a blast..

Sweet dude, any libations?

I'll be there too from 8/1-8/9-same deal as Kev-big house with the extended family. Lots of places down there, so it's actually a good deal rental wise if you have 3 families or so....great boardwalk too which allows bicycles until 10 or 11am daily.

It's a dry town-no liquor stores or booze in restaurants--although you can buy and drink at your house/porch. Several restaurants and a massive liquor store across the causeway bridge do a monster business. A measure to have BYOB in the restaurants failed miserably this past spring.

That's where I went the first time.

That sounds absolutely horrific:(

nah. It's cheaper to drink at home. LOL. I'm not there for the nightlife, I'm there to catch up with family and hang out with my kids and nieces and nephews...

We never leave the beachouse ever, we go to the local seafood market and cook every night, Im talking about a dry town, the horror.

Yes..mixed with lots of Marathon training. Have to do a 18 mile run while I'm down there..so will have to pick and choose

Sounds good man, take it easy with this running stuff Kev, you ever see a 60 yr old runner? Its not a pretty site you can run yourself into the ground, moderation.

Ahh a nice Jersey shawwww conversation I see. I'm obviously very familiar with the coast line there. I've been going to Manasquan just about every weekend this summer. Belmar has always been close to me, and is generally a nice beach with waves that break further out, if you avoid the bennies. My favorite place on the entire coast is Long Beach Island though. High class residential area, the water/beach is very private and is extremely clean..the waves also break far out, really beautiful area if you ever get to see it (exit 63 on the garden state parkway)... CTBlizz, i've never been to Ocean City, but i hear it is gorgeous, enjoy.

Cool, with todays coldown they could have a -8 day so a 23 degree drop. wonder what that day to day record is? snowman?

Probably way higher than that. The standard deviation for temperatures is much smaller in summer than it is in other seasons.

The record at BDL appears to be a 27 (26.5) degree day-to-day mean temp drop between 12/31/1932 and 1/1/1933. A 23.0 drop between days would tie for 12th on the all-time list.

clearing is not too far from there, so they will likely get a boost from the sun soon which may make it tough to do the 23 degree drop.

If I don't have a hurricane to track soon, I'm going to down a bottle of windshield wiper fluid. God knows I won't need it for anything else this winter.

Even JB saying tropics looking to stay quiet for awhile and may even shut down early. Never a good sign when JB is not hyping something.
