MainePhotog
I hope that I didn't sound like I was doubting the temp. Just a little part of me is curious to experience 100°F in New England, as I never have before. Experienced temps well above that in the desert in the southwestern part of the US. But here in New England, that would be special.

tamarack
Interesting that you mentioned that Mt. I remember hiking up there in the early 90s. That isn't the Mt that had the B-52 wreckage on it, is it? The B-52 crash in 1963 was on Elephant Mt, about 10 miles east of Greenville, thus about 50 miles from Burnt Jacket. Did you bushwhack up the mountain from Little Big Wood Pond? I was unaware of any maintained trail there, and the most logical road access appears to be behind the tight gate on Attean Twp, as the Holeb Road only approaches the far west end. JEB, too bad you weren't here for Hot Saturday, 8/2/75, when PWM set it's all time high at 103, and BHB was 101 with one's toes in saltwater. (Also set state records in RI, 104, and MA, two stations at 107, New England's hottest. A favorite bit of wx trivia is that one of those 2 places, Chester, touched -35 in Jan, 1981 to set the state's cold record.)
HIPPYVALLEY
Tough to endure brutal humidity today and then not get a drop of rain out of the t-storm potential. 86/66 mostly sunny now. Still pretty oppressive.

Ginx snewx
Great news Talking about 1 day NAO, from raleighwx site, not the 3-day centered filter...even the 3-day centered filter gfs forecast peaks at neutral (very slightly positive) in a few days, before dipping back into the negatives...we might see the first positive reading since May, but it's so borderline, and bias has been for higher numbers than what have actually occurred, that it might as well stay negative. powderfreak
Dew point is back in the 40s now... 67/49 and both temp/dew are falling though I assume the Td will level off here soon or even creep back up a bit. Should drop down into that 49-51F range by morning with these clear skies and dying wind. The air my window fans are blowing into the house feels absolutely amazing after the past few days of high humidity.
