stormtrackertf
Chuck Gaidica got DTX on the phone and they confirmed we did indeed break the record today...with a high of 102°F.
cyclone77
Tomorrow will be sort of a tough forecast for this area. NAM stalls out the surface boundary just north of here as a weak wave of low pressure rides in from the west. If cloud debris/convection can stay away long enough we'd have a legitimate shot at 100 again. Chances are there will be enough cloudiness/precip around to keep temps from getting too hot. DVN playing it safe and going with mid 90s is definitely a good idea. Looks like we'll continue to string 90 degree days through the next 7 days as we never cool to below 90. stormtrackertf
While I was out picking my sister up from work I noticed a bunch of people lining up outside for the Tigers game downtown, and across the street from there at the Fox Theatre people were in line for the Nicki Minaj concert...ouch. I hope they had lots of water.
Hoosier
IND is a runaway freight train. 850 mb temps were progged around 21C...normally that is too cool for triple digits but not with good mixing and extremely dry ground.
SpartyOn
Damn glad to see the dusty old useless record broken. Records are meant to be broken and now we have 100 degree new landmark for today. Cool stuff. Now this upcoming winter lets break Dec 1 1974.
Chicago Storm
CLI has a max of 99 at ORD and MDW. 101 at UGN. Topped out at 98 here. These stand as the highs for the day. smh at Skilling using the 3SW MDW COOP site and making big deal out of it (hit 100).

stormtrackertf
Per KDTX radar it looks like the boundary has almost made it to PTK, so we should get some relief soon. Temps are still solidly in the 90's down here.
michsnowfreak
Damn glad to see the dusty old useless record broken. Records are meant to be broken and now we have 100 degree new landmark for today. Cool stuff. Now this upcoming winter lets break Dec 1 1974. I didnt want to break the record, think its cool to have that old triple digit record have lasted so long. But realistically, I was hoping for 100F (to save the record) or 102F+, so Im glad it hit 102F. Dont like tying records, its sort of cheap lol, as the newest date supercedes the previous record even though both are equal, almost like its unfair to the original record Agree 100% about Dec 1, 1974...bring it on! cyclone77
NAM12 and 4km NAM are boiling hot for the QC tomorrow. 105-106 on 4km NAM. MLI overachieves in these types of setups, so it's gonna be interesting to see if the clouds/precip hold off. Chances are that will be an issue though. If not they will surely top 100. Hoosier
Wouldn't be too sure about that.. Clouds have increased very quickly over the area here.. Probably need about 2 more hours without cloud issues to get it, longer if clouds become an issue. Adjusting for extreme drought conditions around IND, I see potential for a few more 100 degree days in the next 10 days barring a deluge or drastic model flips. Chicago Storm
It's up to 90 here (27th 90+ day). ORD is only up to 85, with cloud debris/lake breeze issues.
Hoar_Frost
I've only been up to 87 here so far; it's 85 right now under some clouds. I suspect that I'll have 90 (or higher) later once this patch of clouds passes. The front shows up pretty well on visible satellite, and it's creeping north- and eastward again.
