Powerball
Detroit is gonna bake if the NAM is right. There is a pocket of 850 mb temps of 25C with excellent mixing, which would support mid 100s. Afternoon CU may be a problem, which will probably put a slight cap on the temps.
stormtrackertf
I don't see DTW getting into the mid-100's. I think even 103 is somewhat of a stretch, given how things have gone so far this year...the NAM showed us getting a few-several degrees hotter on the other two 100 days this year, too, but I would not be surprised at all if we make it to 100 or 101. Anything higher than that would just be crazy, it's surprisingly rare for DTW to get much hotter than that, but I'd be welcoming of a 103 degree reading...it always has fascinated me that we've had so many 102's and a few 104's, but never a 103. SpartyOn
Take a look at Traverse City, Michigan (KTVC) ... looks like they only bottomed out at 83 last night! Insanity. What's a shame is how built up that area has become. But I think downsloping plays more of a role than any UHI effect.

Chicago WX
FWA should easily tie and probably break their record of 100° today. If so, only two to tie and three to break the record for most 100º days in one year (8 in 1934).
