kab2791
Excessive Heat Watch for tomorrow for DTX area. Probably the hottest Zone Area Forecast for Wayne County I have ever seen (Highs 101-105). Record High at DTW of 101 is in jeopardy.

michsnowfreak
Tomorrows record high is 101F set in 1887. I will be rooting for anything to mess up a potential record high, because I hate to see such an old heat record go! That was the only 100F+ in the 19th century at Detroit (since records began in 1871). There was a 99F in 1881 however.

turtlehurricane
98F here... Wonder why Middleton is always so high? Must have the sensor in a black topped parking lot. They're just to the east of the driftless region, maybe some lee side subsidence especially with a wind direction from the west like today. Chicago WX
Hoosier will not be happy about it, but I'm liking 99.4º for LAF tomorrow. So close, yet...

cyclone77
Despite a warmer atmosphere and ample mixing today was cooler than yesterday at MLI. Very inconsistent there this year. Hit 98 here. 97 so far in Sterling. 99 Muscatine.

Boogieman
I hate to trot out the old cliche but records were made to be broken. I got a box of old 45's I can send you... break all you want. Just send me an AC unit in trade! P
Boogieman
Why would we love the heat? I think everyone here is pretty much a winter weather lover that can enjoy severe episodes in spring and fall. Summer just plain sucks. 80's is fine... over 90 and it's draining. WInter is fine, but I hate the extreme cold. I should probably live in Honolulu, but that's probably not going to happen. Hoosier
Ah, how the tables turn quickly. At least it would change things up. I'm sure you're longing for 80 dews after all this dry heat.

Hoosier
That's the only thing left to getting me to total, 100% weather misery. Will be interesting to see if it verifies. There will be a front in the area which helps but not entirely convinced we can pull it off with how dry it has gotten.

daddylonglegs
ah yes... EXPECTING THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR HIGHER TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE AREA TUESDAY AFTERNOON. RAISED HIGH TEMPERATURES AHEAD OF THE FRONT TO A RANGE OF 95 TO 100 ALONG AND SOUTH OF I90 AND WITH DEW POINTS IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 60S AHEAD OF THE FRONT...THIS WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDICES OF 100 OR HIGHER. PLAN TO BRING THE HEAT ADVISORY FARTHER NORTH INTO THIS AREA TO COVER THESE CONDITIONS. another day of this crap.
