Chicago WX
We might've had a shot at that if LAF was behaving like it used to. MET temps might have been too low if that was the case. Seems to be getting back to its usual self lately. So, you might get your 100 on Tuesday.
SpartyOn
DTW sitting at 94. 18th 90+ day. This will be another legit heatwave with mid 90s tomorrow and close to 100 on Tues. Should hit 20 90 degree days with no problem! What a Summer.
cyclone77
The QC was able to achieve 96 today with 850 temps around 19C per RAP model. With temps forecast above 20C tomorrow, along with similar mixing it stands to reason we should be able to make the upper 90s.
Geos
Looks like the hottest temperatures in this region will be in central WI - the NAM is showing.
Snowman99
Today was the 19th day in a row with temps of 90+ degrees in St. Louis. The record is 28 consecutive days. The next 7 days..at least ...will be well into the 90s..looks like this record has a real chance of being broken. Amazing.
Chicago Storm
Topped out at 94 here and at ORD today. Looks like ORD hit 95 after the 4PM CLI.
Chicago Storm
98/100 look like a good call for ORD the next two days.
Hoosier
MET temps might have been too low if that was the case. Seems to be getting back to its usual self lately. So, you might get your 100 on Tuesday. Eh, even 98 on Tuesday could be a tad optimistic if latest runs verify. I could see Wednesday being as warm or warmer than Tuesday if clouds/precip aren't an issue.
cyclone77
New NAM makes Wednesday the hottest day of the heat wave for Iowa and western Illinois. Would be a very similar setup to 7/7 when MLI hit 104 and Iowa City hit 105. Gonna have to wait and see if any other models delay the frontal timing like this. I'll go with 97/101 for MLI for mon/tue. If the new NAM solution ends up working out I'd go with 103-104 for Wed.
Stebo
I'll go 96 tomorrow and 100 Tuesday.

Powerball
It'll be interesting to see if Detroit can make a safe run for its all-time record high of 105*F tomorrow. If the NAM is right, that'll be the case.

cyclone77
Rockford and Waukegan already up to 95. Madison, Milwaukee, and ORD at 94. All are ahead of yesterday's pace. Cumulus field is quickly developing though, so temps probably won't get too out of control today. Should be less cumulus development tomorrow with the warmer 850 temps overhead. I'm still going with 97/101 today/tomorrow for MLI.

KokomoWX
People have lost their love for the heat. If this was 2009, this thread would be 10+ pages by now. Looks like the Plains get really fried by the weekend, wow. Why would we love the heat? I think everyone here is pretty much a winter weather lover that can enjoy severe episodes in spring and fall. Summer just plain sucks.
