U_Thant Posted July 8, 2012 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Our office actually started getting a feed of the CIRA "experimental" blended GPS-AMSU/SSMI TPW product in AWIPS via the SPORT project... geez...it has to be going on 4, maybe 5 years ago. Of course, now they have it in the regular datastream so I think they might have removed it from the SPORT feed, I'm not 100% sure. Somebody from one of the other SPORT offices can chime in if they remember exactly when the CIRA product started getting sent out. In any event, I was never a big fan of the default color enhancement table that they use - I have a better one that's more intuitive. The typical dry colors (yellow/orange/brown) are used for lower PWAT values and moist colors (green/blue/magenta) are used for high PWAT values.
