why?

I would have been in a perfect location for storms today. But I decided to go out to Orient point for the day to visit my sister, and we aren't getting anything here because I think I'm too far to the east.

And they screwed up my check at work. They owed me $160 but they paid me only $56, and they won't give my the $160 that I want.

Feels to me like the cooler air is in already. West or Northwest wind pretty breezy and 77/61. Spritzed off and on for a couple hours earlier, but didn't even wet the parched dirt.

When you have temps into the 80's with dews in the upper 60's under mid-level lapse rates of 6.5 C/KM and MLcape values are barely around 250 J/KG and LI values which are struggling to get much lower than -2C (although they have increased to -3C) there is a problem.

That line in PA has ample instability and shear to work with. For a derecho though I'd like to see steeper mid level lapse rates but if Dr. Forbes says it may become a derecho then people better listen

He is one of the only people on that channel that I still listen to.

BTW what do you do at work if you see a spider? Do you ask one of the kids to kill it for you?

Whether it happens next weekend or not. You can bet in August or September we'll eventually get into a pattern with tropical moisture (or storm remnants) drawn up ...wiping out the rainfall deficit in short order. Of course that may be too late for Kevin's lawn.

Next weekend could turn out interesting with the threat of moisture transport from the Gulf up the east coast producing some decent rain

I usually just tell my boss and he usually doesn't say anything back. Usually though working with camp I've only had two spider encounters...I killed one of them and the other I don't remember

Possibly, but last year here in CT it was exceedingly wet, so perhaps we are in a normal, to below normal precip type year???

I'm at my sisters in Windsor Locks at a BBQ sittin outside and it's definitely much cooler now andess humid...I'm sure cloud cover is a reason but it's quite comfortable now

My area has had plenty of rain the last month with numerous tstorms including the severe one that dropped 2.5 inches of rain quarter hail and 60 mph winds. Everything is very green here but a week of no rain will not be good

Miss communication ftl

she is under my bed

After the brief sprinkle, dry and cool breezes are coming in.

One thing we can hope for is a stronger than normal midwest trough, come later in July and Aug. Should focus some pretty good training storm setups here and there, and maybe that weenie TC impact we all are holding out for.
