But you're oblivious to the much more moderate temps. on LI and coastal NJ - the low to mid 80's and the fairly low dps away from the coast, ameliorating the higher afternoon temps. there, which are only in the low 90's except for the inflated hotspots of KEWR or KPHL.

Euro has mid-upper 80's or BDL Monday-Wed next week..and then we all get back into the humidity end of week..with something like 82/71 with storms around

Mid 80s seems almost cold for BDL in the summertime... that means most folks are in the 70s to low 80s. Perfect summer temps. Tolland won't get out of the 70s those three days.

Im sorry, its an absolutely sunsational day, chamber of commerce indeed. Summer of Steve 5 star gem.

COC weather coming... man this is shaping up to be one pleasant summer which is odd considering how brutal it is for the rest of the nation.

High temps failed by a solid 5F up here today and tomorrow is low 80s again, followed by 70s. BTV has lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s so perfect sleeping weather.

I will admit, tonight won't be the most pleasant night with a low in the lower 60s. Been a while since we've stayed in the 60s at night, and it wouldn't surprise me if we clear out to hit the 50s as this area seems to radiate well.

BDL's normal high this time of year is 84 (the highest it ever gets is 85). I think it just gets a bad rep being the warmest of the SNE climate sites, but it's not like it's Newark.

Sure are except the 2 closest places to you, The Stump and Goshen, were 87 and 85 respectively.

He had to have hit mid 80s... I'd say 85F given the surrounding stations all at the same elevation as him.

Shaw Pond in Beckett (1,377ft) which he said was probably the closest to his climate hit 86F. Otis at 1,390ft hit 87F. Given that he seems to run cooler than them by 1-2F, I'd guess he hit 85F.

Good to know. I love the facts you throw out on here.

So I guess mid-80s is normal... but yeah it does get a bad rep especially with Blizz touting the heat there constantly. I start to think that's the local oven in the region.

I usually get the impression that 90F at BDL in July really isn't noteworthy at all, but I guess its still +4 to +5 for a high depending on when in July.

Think about the SNE climate sites. Three of the five are on or very close to water (BOS, PVD, and BDR) and the other one is 1000 feet up. Of course BDL will be the warmest. It's landlocked with basically no elevation and in a downwind valley. People joke about the tarmac thing, but almost all of the approximately 950 ASOS are located right next to a tarmac so at least we're comparing apples to apples since we know they are all sited similarly and using the same equipment unlike AWOS and/or personal weather stations.

You should familiarize yourself with tabular data and time stamps. My post was made around noon @ 2k where it was safely in the 70's. I hit 83.7 here at the house. The high temps at Goshen and the stump lasted for 15 minutes and then began an immediate descent. Also low DP's and what has turned out to be a near constant breeze all season kept things very pleasant. Trust me, I worked in the unbroken sun from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM. While it was certainly warm for a few hours this afternoon it was sweet. Here we are fast approaching the real teeth of Summer and we've made it through to now unscathed. This whole ugly interlude between Winters will come a quick and merciful end soon. Within 90 days we'll be approaching peak color for Autumn and cold air will begin to settle over us for another long and magical Winter. The end is near. Oh, sorry you and Forky are having to deal with such high heat. My suggestion is move.

Pretty muggy here. A/C is on...

Thinking about installing ceramic tile in our upstairs bathroom. Gotta rip up the ugly vinyl stuff, then get that cement board put in.

Sounds fun

You've got the summer free as a teacher, it will be a learning experience and a gratifying project.

70/68 warm night. AC on in the living room but bed rooms are sleep with the conditions nature intended. ; )
