Major heat anomaly centered in the middle of the USA... But a large colder than normal area in Central Asia, plus Europe hasn't been above normal. Cool and wet in nw areas.

I haven't analyzed it all, but funny watching these guys like Bill Nye and Sam Champion using this as a sign it must be global warming. I suppose two much snowier than normal winters in NYC were global cooling. Oh I guess we forgot about that already because last winter was almost snow-less...but hey nature has to correct.

We are +6.4 for the month, with a projected high of 93 today, all out inferno, mega death torch here. Downslope Dandy today, this is when we sizzle.

Snow has nothing to do with the debate. There's really no doubt that the planet is warming...the question is how much is attributed to AGW. I'll save that topic for the climate forum though. :)

Well you are as warm as anyone else in terms of departures. But obviously being higher up......it's all relative.

The + departures have little impact here, I mean the difference from 78 to 83 just isn't that big a deal from a comfort point of view.

Noone cares about your area though or it's weather because it's fantasy from realism.. When will you realize that? It's in an area of nothingness..with nothing to do..you leave your girlfriend and your 2 young children for weeks at a time for Alaska and days at a time to golf to get away from it. Understand you are +5 to +6 this month. Learn that and comprehend just how hot that is.

First of all, the weather here is as important as the weather in Tolland. Your view that this is an "area of nothingness" shows what a sheltered little suburban life you lead. The idea that there is nothing to do here is laughable and sad a the same time. The fact that you need a mall and pizza delivery to think there is something to do is truly a sad commentary. There are an infinite number of things to do here. That's why there are so many rich and famous people that choose to live here. In the last week my daughter has met members of the BSO at Tanglewood and had them introduce her to classical music and its instruments. She has been swimming, golfing, playing tennis. She's been in a parade, seen fireworks, and a play. This week there is art camp, youth golf, and more swimming. I have been going to Alaska on a regular basis for years and years, long before I had children. I have spent my life honing my skiing skills. In order to continue to ski at a high level I go to the big stuff. I never go away to golf, it's always in this general vicinity. Both my mate and I have varied interests and we support each other in all of our endeavours. Understand that June came in below normal despite your daily assertions that it was going to be a wire to wire torch. You have yet to be a man and admit your total and complete bust. Learn to listen to what the pros tell you over and over. Comprehend just how dopey you sound.

He does get it...he just goes by "real feel" so he'll never actually say it's warm or hot. Especially since he's comparing his temps to the rest of SNE. What he needs to do is compare to similar climates in CNE/NNE...of course it's going to appear cool there compared to the coastal plain of SNE.

Not entirely true. When it is actually hot (90+) I'll be happy to say that it was a hot day. It's just that it really hasn't been unpleasant yyet this summer, Maybe a day or two but certainly no prolonged death torch as some here like to repeatedly call for even when the pros say that is not indicated by any model output. I do care mostly about how it feels, the +/- departure game isn't that interesting to me. + departures due to elevated overnight lows really has little effect on my daily life.

Nah he's trolling. If rivers were falling from his balls sticking to his thighs he would not admit it.

No, I'm merely correcting people like Blizz who constantly make sweeping statements like "90's for all of SNE". Last I checked we live in Massachusetts here and that is part of SNE. If it hits 90 I'll say it's a hot day. No big deal.

Ding ding ding.

Pete's a smart guy. He's well aware how much above normal it has been there this month and over the last year. The same goes For Joe/Kevin on the other end of the spectrum. They all know what they're doing. I'm just tired of reading it.

Of course, I use more math in my work than most people do. It's not rocket science we're talking here. It's rudimentary statistics. I may be at the other end of the spectrum from Blizz/LL but I'm not making wild predictions of snow in July, in fact, I don't think I ever venture much in the way of forecasting. I leave that to the pros. It would be like you guys going on a builders' forum and telling us pros how it's done. I prefer to quietly learn from the best this board has to offer. I just like being a counter balance to the heat weenies.

91.7 at the house today. 9 out of the last 16 90 or better. Considering our normal for the summer is 11 or so I would consider that a significant stretch of hot weather, not withstanding the Ginxter's or MRG's forthcoming dissenting opinion.

I'm so so sorry Scooby. I hope you can escape by sitting in a/c until this valley horror passes. Just think, in the blink of an eye it'll be time for football, apples, pumpkin pie and windshield scraping. Keep thinking cold, happy thoughts.

Wow... what a day! If only every summer day could be this nice. Sunshine and mid 70s with dews as low as the lower 40s.

I mean this is perfect... couldn't dream it up any better, like 3pm obs of 75/41 with 29% RH.

With these dews in the 40s all day, if the wind goes calm we are going to go low in the mountain valleys.
