Summer update: With June in the books and modestly cooler than normal, the regional string is broken

Typhoon Tip

Another hot day on tap here, things are very dry, gardens are wilted and lawns are browning out typical summer stuff.

and with nothing through Friday (at least per Upton), lawns will be dead by then with warm temps and low humidity. Chamber of commerce of week for local beaches

SShhhh..don't tell MRG..it's been a cool, breezy, below normal, nice summer..noone has had any warmth or heat nor will they

Where's the high heat Blizz because it's not here. Just had the family at the tennis courts and despite the fact we were running around we barely broke a sweat. June was below normal, that can't be disputed. It also can't be disputed that it has been pleasantly warm here, no high heat. Yesterday remained in the 70's, today looks to be a carbon copy. I couldn't care any less about the temps down there in the I-95 corridor where you live. It's supposed to be hot down there in Dixie. You keep blathering on about high heat for GC and it's still a no show. Totally benign Summer weather, you can't spin it any other way. Absolutely unremarkable. Your extreme forecasts continue to bust. Why don't you listen to Will and Scooter, you might learn something.

Well you are as warm as anyone else in terms of departures. But obviously being higher up......it's all relative.

it's all relative.

If Barrow was to pull off a +20F July I doubt their residents would be saying it was cool weather.

MRG is about 10F cooler than BDL on avg with highs...if he is seeing regular high heat of 90+ then we're all in trouble.

Noone cares about your area though or it's weather because it's fantasy from realism.. When will you realize that? It's in an area of nothingness..with nothing to do..you leave your girlfriend and your 2 young children for weeks at a time for Alaska and days at a time to golf to get away from it. Understand you are +5 to +6 this month. Learn that and comprehend just how hot that is.

Haha we are still trying to figure this out...

The whole departures are the same at elevation even if the temp is cooler...

Yeah and like Dendrite said......thats all we mean. I'm sure the folks at MWN aren't complaining of heat despite them being +5 or 6. I don't understand why that is so tough to accept. Torch weenies to the left of me, cold ones to the right, here I am stuck in the middle.

Haha it's like when folks think it's nice that the summit of Mansfield has a very hard time hitting 80F....and they don't understand that if it's 80+ up at 4K then we have 100+ in the valley.

I really don't care to see 90F+ at 2K or higher.

Right, he just doesn't get it

He does get it...he just goes by "real feel" so he'll never actually say it's warm or hot. Especially since he's comparing his temps to the rest of SNE. What he needs to do is compare to similar climates in CNE/NNE...of course it's going to appear cool there compared to the coastal plain of SNE.

Based on the current forecasts and modeling I may as well bring the rain gauge in and do shots out of it because that's the only way it's going to get any use.

Yup.

You were so fortunate to have your seed down prior to the 3 weeks of near daily rains. Takes hours for me to water this new area. Even more than before now since I bought another 100' of hose yesterday. More areas to water. At least it's coming in pretty well and hopefully will be able to cut back a bit on the water (not counting the area that extra 100' has bought me).

Agencies in CT aren't messin around with fireworks...family gathering at lakehouse in Woodstock was lighting fireworks off over the lake and state police, fire Marshall and bomb technicians showed up...took everything away in bomb containers and wrote citations.

Nah he's trolling. If rivers were falling from his balls sticking to his thighs he would not admit it.

Yeah, my vegetable garden needs daily watering and even then it's a little stunted. We look dry for the forecast period. Maybe we can squeeze out some pop up showers tuesday?

Ding ding ding.

Pete's a smart guy. He's well aware how much above normal it has been there this month and over the last year. The same goes For Joe/Kevin on the other end of the spectrum. They all know what they're doing. I'm just tired of reading it.

BOS may hit 90 if winds don't go onshore. 86 at noon obs.

It wouldn't shock me if it gets to 88 and then bounces around that high ..87, 89, 88, 87.... 89.4

It's one of those days where the unabated insolation allows the temp to rise quickly, but the limitations because of thickness' parks the temp under a ceiling of sorts.

And the increased pm cumulus. I think 88-89 will do it. Beautiful summer for us in NE.

Tiresome to put it succinctly.

Up to 88f as of 1pm.

Already warmer than yesterday.

High of 85 here so far. Today will mark the 11th straight warmer than normal day, however that may end this week as overnight lows will be cooler than normal for this time of year. BHO rainfall deficit is about to reach 10 inches too. Not sure how everyone else compares to that number but it's impressive either way. Visibility is crap today too...kind of surprised considering how dry it is out today.
