.05" here. Not my day either. Hope something pops up later this evening.

Seems to be about our only hope is to be under one of these slow moving clusters. One of the reasons I was a little skeptical of some of the model precip output (at least so far)......it blanketed such a large area....seems to be hard to get that kind of coverage during these summertime setups no matter how juicy the air is. FFC's discussion this afternoon mentioned that the ridge may try to build back a little sooner this weekend as well. Ugh.

Justin...wait for it...wait for it......

Larry, I can only be held responsible if it is benificial rain, and welcomed. Any flooding, or washing away of anything, is because those Moles have super mojo, and it can't be contained :) You'll see...everybody gets rain this week, lol.

I've gotten several scattered sprinkle/showers, which was ok, as I found a leak in my water pipe, next to a tree, and I've been digging, and chopping out roots for hours. Even a thunderstorm would have been ok, as I was looking very mole like, covered in mud, and soaking wet from the effort. Don't know why pipes go bad so as to make you work on them just before dark, in the rain, with lightening, and heat near 90. Absolutely beautiful sky I saw from the Home De pot parking lot. Only thing better than clouds in summer, is snow clouds.

I had to wash off up at the other house with the hose, and now I know why my pup, shies away from getting a bath. The well goes down 350 feet, and that water comes out so very cold :) T

Got you beat Marietta.... .02 for the whole show so far in Weaverville. There is always tomorrow though. Curious to find out how Lookout did today as per the returns he should have got some precip.

I don't know... See that radar estimate for the storm so far several posts up? Notice that brown, zero spot in the southern end of Buncombe? That would be rain shield the gods have placed over my house. A few sprinkles and that's about it. If we strike out again tomorrow, I might start scouting a few cliffs.

Ummmmm, Tony, we're getting a second tstorm here on the northside of Atlanta (Dunwoody area) with heavy rain! You must be up to something. You ought to get paid for these miracles. Wow, what an afternoon/evening! This one is more of a fun good old-fashioned garden variety tstorm. No hail, very little CTG lightning, no really strong winds, and no power flickering.

Glad to hear it, Larry. So many in Ga. have suffered much at the hands of treacherous drought like episodes, a good old fashion storm like we used to get is considered unusual now a days. I didn't get but a .1 or so tonight, but after 5+ inches in 8 days, I'm blase about it, lol. I don't imagine that attitude will last, if I get back in the drys again.

No, to getting paid. As soon as you start charging for rain, it stops :) Anyway, moles aren't interested in gold....they like grubs and worms, I think :)Tony

Really? Wow that sucks. Just south of yall we have gotten really good rains the last two days. Just wow crazy how just one county over makes a huge difference in totals.

That seemed to be the theme yesterday. At times the rain was surrounding the French Broad River Valley. :axe:

I ended up with .12". GSP says there is hope for us though...

FOR TODAY...HIGH PW AIR MASS COMBINED WITH LIGHT EASTERLY LOW LEVEL

UPSLOPE FLOW AND A FAVORABLE RIGHT ENTRANCE REGION OF THE JET

OVERHEAD MEANS THAT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS COULD DEVELOP AT ANY

TIME AT ANY LOCATION. EXPECT A BIT OF A LULL AROUND DAYBREAK. IN

SPITE OF EXTENSIVE CLOUD COVER...DAYTIME HEATING WILL HELP NEW

CONVECTION DEVELOP FROM THE WEST AS A WEAK UPPER WAVE MOVES IN. WILL

RAMP THE PRECIP CHANCES BACK UP TO LIKELY ACROSS NE GEORGIA AND THE

UPSTATE...WITH CATEGORICAL OVER THE MTNS...BUT REALLY JUST ABOUT

EVERYONE WILL SEE SOME RAIN IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS. SEVERE WEATHER

SEEMS LESS OF A POSSIBILITY OWING TO THE COOLER TEMPS AND LESS

DCAPE...BUT AS THE WIND/HAIL THREAT DIMINISHES THE FLOOD THREAT

INCREASES...PERHAPS DRAMATICALLY IN SOME LOCATIONS THAT HAVE SEEN

THE HEAVY RAIN IN THE LAST 24 HOURS. CANNOT PINPOINT ANY AREAS RIGHT

NOW THAT ARE OF CONCERN...BUT BY SOME TIME LATER IN THE DAY...

SUSPECT THAT A FLASH FLOOD WATCH WILL BECOME NECESSARY. ON WEDNESDAY

NIGHT...THE CONVECTION SHOULD EVOLVE SIMILAR TO TONIGHT...SO PRECIP

CHANCES ONLY SLOWLY DIMINISH. ACTIVITY SHOULD GO ON ALL NIGHT

SOMEWHERE. TEMPS WILL BE KEPT BELOW NORMAL TODAY...BUT IF ANY

LOCATION BREAKS OUT IN THE SUN THE FCST WILL NOT WORK OUT. TEMPS

WILL ALSO REMAIN MILD OVERNIGHT.

Well, I did get 0.30 yesterday, mainly from leftover/dying storms...and as usual some areas close by got much more. Just south of me, for example, has had some very good rain/storms over the last several days. In total, probably 2 or 3 inches. So sick of seeing good storms heading this way, only to fall apart.

Was looking at GFS model output going into next week, and surface dewpoints remain high. As we go into this weekend and into next week, the Bermuda high becomes more of an influence. So we move moreso into a pattern with more AM sun, more heat, and with high dewpoints (high humidity)....but also, sustained chances of aftn storms across the southeast. You can see the warm moist flow out of the gulf at 850mb on the bottom left panel of the Euro. Combine that with daytime heating and high dewpoints, and we should see a steady diet of aftn storms. As always though, there will be winners and losers with the precip.

CAE picked up. 78 while mby had 2.15  It's amazing the difference just a few miles made in the totals. At least my grass isn't crunchy this morning and there is a few patches of green

That's geat!! You are getting so much rain, you can sound mildly dissatisfied with over 2 inches of rain, lol. Glad to see scoring so much rain to go along with your heat! It has been a few days since I had meaningful rains, but the ground is still so wet, I keep thinking I got rain over night, when I come out in the mornings, lol. Now, if we can just get back into the 70's. T

The 70's would be heaven  I think I'm still in shock getting this much rain  I just wish this pattern would continue, but I'm looking at temps climbing back towards the century mark soon and I'm not looking forward to that :( On the brighter side of things, the cooler temps and rain have given my hosta's new life

Finally got some real rain last night. .85" IMBY. Far less than most areas around me but my grass is very thankful.

I got about .66 out of it. But I had a sustained gust (can a "gust" be sustained? ;-) ) that I would estimate had to be at least 40 or 50mph and it knocked a huge section out of a poplar and I watched it fall about 80 feet down. luckily it just missed a fence, a zip line stand, and a zip line. Dang now that I write this I think that happened from the storm we got the day before (just .11 inches). either way, it was quite a site.
