Okay, I'm gonna ask again, because part of me feels as though you had too much milk and cookies... :) or you really think 5% which is also possible.

Ok now my serious post -

I think there will be some storms around but I think just like others have said we might be borderline. I also think it looks less good than it did before. Perhaps also SPC is a little trigger happy after the derecho and the criticism.

I'm going to guess there will be a 30% out somewhere and we will be in the slight risk but probably only in the 15%. One must remember, though that storms do not follow SPC outlook boundaries ;)

I also agree, as we are a bit north in my opinion. I also believe storms do whatever they can to avoid SPC boundaries. I had a storm last year that was random and isolated in a see text, well you've seen the video the rest is history...

i have no idea what that means but thanks

One word...Derecho, oh and Kenny.

I didn't remember that video until you mentioned it.

But now I'm sure its all coming back to you.

Indeed

- On the topic of storms...I'd bet that tomorrow will be a day when one or two lucky posters on this forum get smacked around even in the immediate DC area. Widespread will likely be south...good news for PEPCO and BGE lol. Bad news for Dominion.

im going to be cautiously optimistic that we'll get a good storm to take a pic of around late afternoon early evening but im not necessarily expecting it.

i really want a good shelf cloud while it's still light that's not moving 400 mph.

You should also probably try not to die near the monuments this time. Your camera will thank you.

You know tomorrow and Ian will enjoy his shelf cloud, and I'd take a random displaced cell like the one in the video. Tomorrow is so hard to figure out.

I do it for the science

Two things... 1 the storm vector won't be fast so if one shows up it won't be racing, now were talking later in the day or we were, but since we might now be north its a tough call.

2 The site says you have an arcade, and then I got an error. Whats the deal here?

The storm will generate it's own motion and do whatever it pleases. It's similar to winter storms making their own cold air ;)

You'll get your wish of a rogue storm I think. But obviously we won't know where until it's in progress.
