MN Transplant
Finally got internet back this morning. Nothing catastrophic in my neighborhood. Did have a healthy branch fall on the carport/porch roof and made a dent. Had to get up to remove it and fix a shingle. Will need to get up in the attic at some point to check on the plywood. Would have been pissed if it hit my anemometer.

WEATHER53
Variey of talk from good observers about that winds stayed steady at 50+mph for longer and not so much intense gust for a few seconds.. A lot of big limbs did drop straight down and fully leafed. Not a lot of blow around. May have been winds just kept steady pushing.

Scarlet Pimpernel
Here are three photos I took during the storm (one is actually a video frame). I sat there inside with the camera propped on the window sill and took several, attempting to get the sky while it was lit up. Since the power had already gone out, it was essentially pitch-black inside and outside so any light was due solely to the lightning itself. Lightning streaking across the sky. Taken with a ~1/3 second exposure at ISO400: Stop-frame from a video, 30fps, 720p: Tree that fell onto building across the street. Fortunately, I don't thnk there was any major damage:

MN Transplant
Random bump, but where is the thread for the pre-derecho posts? Mapgirl already bumped it, but I'll put in a plug for my past events thread: http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/42075-links-to-threads-for-past-events/
