NEG NAO
question is how strong will this area of heavy rain and convection be when it enters the immediate metro area looks to pass through northern union county and areas north and east of there - showing signs of weakening http://www.wundergro...ls=1&rainsnow=
Stormlover74
There's also been no new warnings in the past 45 minutes for areas south or east of the cell Not as impressive as it was an hour ago, but still holding together just fine. It was helped by that cell which moved in from the west as well as the new convection that formed on the SE flank.
FPizz
It looks like it will stay to the north of 78 for the most part.
IsentropicLift
There's also been no new warnings in the past 45 minutes for areas south or east of the cell It's not exactly racing SE. They were very slow to issue the warning for Morris County.
Eduardo
Hoping to eat my words here, but today just does not look like our day (at least those of us in the immediate metro area).

Stormlover74
I wouldn't say that as it is moving SE. Just not sure how strong it will be. MT Holly did just put out a new warning for Somerset/Morris and Hunterdon. It looks like it will stay to the north of 78 for the most part. bkviking
After tstorms this morning near Port Jeff, we've been through in and out clouds. Have a pretty stiff SSW wind here in Port Jeff, and cumulus are streaming in swiftly from WSW. I'm not a weather balloon but I'd love to take this set of conditions and transplant it to Kansas with a bit more sunshine. ALB's 16 UTC sounding looks better
Stormlover74
Yeah northern and central Somerset will take the brunt of it. I'm going to miss to the east by 5-10 miles. It developed a nice hail core on the sw flank
Analog96
Yeah northern and central Somerset will take the brunt of it. I'm going to miss to the east by 5-10 miles. It is missing you to the WEST, not the EAST. If it were missing you to the East, I would be under the gun.
FPizz
Lightning strike within probably 1000 yards of my office window in Peapack. Saw the bolt, thunder was nearly instant. Heavy Rain now with vivid lightning.
Stormlover74
Right. I'm too far east is what I meant to say. It is missing you to the WEST, not the EAST. If it were missing you to the East, I would be under the gun.

NEG NAO
the way that storm is moving so slowly and decreasing in intensity and reorganizing is making it difficult to pinpoint exactly where its going to hit http://www.wundergro...ls=1&rainsnow=

Stormlover74
Yeah the worst of it looks to go just east along 287 but could clip parts of Union and Middlesex. NEG NAO
this thing should really start decreasing in intensity as it gets to the bottom of the severe watch area in northern somerset and middlesex county http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=zoom&num=6&delay=15&rbscale=0.13043478260869565&scale=1.000&noclutter=0&ID=DIX&type=N0R&lat=0&lon=0&label=you&showstorms=0&map.x=393&map.y=151¢erx=400¢ery=240&lightning=0&smooth=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=
