ag3
A lot of the sref members have a similar solution to the crazy 18z NAM. The overall mean has 1.50"-2".

bkviking
Once I saw sun out while it was still thundering, I went to Port Jefferson where I caught a full rainbow. Uncanny year as this is 3rd time this season I've seen one.

ag3
What 18Z GFS are you looking at? Shouldn't have said nothing. Has .25"-.50". But nowhere near the crazy amounts the NAM has.
NYCSuburbs
18z NAM superwet Friday into Saturday: NAM has a frequent bias to exaggerate events like this. I'd go with localized 1"+ amounts as opposed to widespread 3+ inches.

I don't know...looks like something with a little bit of a circulation wants to pass south of the area Friday...letting it get its feet wet in 80 F + water and all hell could break loose... Brian5671
Wow at the northern cutoff on the NAM....7.50 inches just off LI? Somehow I doubt that verifies, but could be a good soaker somewhere.

Isotherm
Compared to the past couple days, it feels autumnal out there right now. Mid 70s with a NELY breeze and td's falling into the 60s. I doubt today gets much above 80, and the next 2 days sub 80F. Tomorrow could be 70-75 depending on rain.

Stormlover74
So the NAM seems to heading toward the Euro solution of rain late tomorrow into Saturday rather than the faster GFS which is mostly tonight and tomorrow.
Sundog
Man if the rain ruins Saturday then these couple of cooler days will be such a waste. I was counting on Saturday being nice for morning outdoor activities.
