Eventually it's going to get the point where our summer waters will average in the low 80s and will be able to fully support hurricanes.

SnoSki14
It's just a matter of time until that happens. Our area almost came close last summer with Irene. As of now we generally need a hurricane to rapidly move north so it won't weaken rapidly by the time it gets here, Irene was going too slow and the waters are still averaging a bit too cool to truly support more than a strong TS/maybe Category 1 minimal hurricane although the waters right now could probably support a decent hurricane even if it was moving north at 15-20 mph. We don't need a strong hurricane up here. Our area isn't ready for one. There was a lot of damage with Irene even though it was a strong tropical storm. We definitely don't need a strong hurricane up here, I wouldn't want that, I'm just speaking in terms of probability and possibility.
