Can you compile 90+ degree days from 1996-2011 for NYC, LGA and EWR?

I would do it but don't know where to look for LGA and EWR.

I'm getting ready to go out...You can get 90 degrees days from the Utah climate site and the national weather service site...

Central Park since change to ASOS in 1996. The problem seems to be the switch to ASOS for 90+ days. Average yearly and monthly temps weren't affected however, just 90+ days.

Yearly average of 90+ days:

1980-1995: 21.37

1996-2008: 12.76

I think it's difficult to argue that Central Park's vegetation has not had any impact on temps. 90F days in NYC have clearly decreased in the past decade. Yearly temps haven't seen much change as it's probably a situation where KNYC's often 88-89 and the other stations are in the low 90s. In torch scenarios like the next few days, NYC will easily top 90. It's the days where 1-3F lower makes a significant difference in the 90F tally.

Yup. Look at my last post for average 90+ degree days since 1996 (ASOS change). Like you said, Average temps are not being affected because of 88 - 89 degree days but 90+ degree days are.

The problem might be the ASOS change though and not vegetation.

Average yearly temp at Central Park (pre+post ASOS):

1980-1995: 55.35 (885.60)

1996-2011: 55.38 (886.20)

So its concluded that the ASOS change saw no affect in average yearly temps but it did cause a 30-40% drop of 90+ degree days since it was installed.

What was the change in temps for Newark and LGA for the same time brackets you used in your post?

Can't find EWR and LGA average temps by year. If someone can link it here, I will do the same exact comparisons. 1980-1995 and then 1996-2011.
