It Really Was a Heat Wave II (unless it wasn't, in which case it was weak sauce)- - Obs and Disco Late June/Early July 2012

Briefly touched 80F this afternoon (79.7F) but overall spent the day mostly in the mid 70s with dews in the mid 50s. Just awesome weather with some very white cumulus floating around up there.

Another boring, but ideal summer day here with a high of 81 under partly to mostly sunny skies, with a stiff breeze.

One plus this year is I see darn few mosquitos. Maybe the parched situation is the reason.

Even on the warmest days it has been very breezy. I don't think we've had one of those stagnant, humid air masses set up here for even a day. We've turned the corner Rick and we're heading in the right direction now. Baby steps at first but we'll be picking up speed shortly. I can't wait until it snows again. The first snow is always a joyful occassion.

Go for it! Make sure you throw them up during a much anticipated model run... like when the 12z GFS is rolling out 1.25"+ QPF as snow for the I-95 corridor and see what happens.

BDL and ORH went from +15 and +16 type departures to -9 in there. That was a decent mild down.

I am too lazy and dont care enough to figure out the average departure for that period at all three sites, just was curious it certainly does not look cool or below normal to me, the + far outway the - lol

and by the way the departures will be fairly healthy over the next 6 days at those sites on the + side, just trying to figure out these new terms people are throwing around. Seems odd.

and it should be noted before the 20th there were impressive negative departures, I just picked that date and since because it was centered around a lot of mild down discussion and there certainly was a 3 day cool down and impressive at bdl and orh, nothing notable at bos. Anyhow, looks warm the next 5-6 days.

Mild down is a silly term CtBlizz cooked up. He won't say cool down because that admits defeat and his busted torch calls. He probably went to a sales seminar where they taught him never to use a word that carries a negative connotation when trying to close a deal.
