Spectacular day! Sunny and breezy... the beaches are PACKED! Actually surprised at just how much beach traffic there was headed into town - seemed more like a weekend day.

78/67 with a good SSE breeze....

Looks awesome, nice surf too, early start to the 4th weekend everywhere. Love it, enjoy.

Crazy they are going to break a bunch of monthly records down in the Mid-Atlantic for June hi temp. That airmass is sickening.

The heat up here today is a big fail...but down there they are going for some serious records.

Big fail from ORH on east. 93/69 here ain't too shabby. Normal high is 82.

Yeah the valley will recover to at least not totally bust their forecast...I think BDL was supposed to hit 96F or 97F so they might only end up 1-3F short if they can tack on a couple more.

Further east looks like a huge bust today.

ASOUT, who posted that ORH east might be cooler than the rest of the area and was lambasted by some?

I wonder if this will happen a few times in the next couple of weeks. The CT valley bakes while we are warm, but perhaps a few cooler than they are. This is the pattern that would do it.

Guidance was good at hinting western areas the warmest. Poor MRG. As usual, extremists FTL.

Yeah they were def going to be the warmest regardless...but what a big bust in E MA/RI. A lot of SE MA/RI is sea breezing from the south now...so their highs will make forecasts look abysmal.

It almost looked like those rain showers/storms left a bit of a meso boundary behind in eastern areas that never allowed for good mixing...and helped turn the winds more onshore. The late start for insolation didn't help either.

I think so. Models had s-sw winds for the most part, but even inland..I'm a little surprised it is not warmer. Places like OWD etc. Maybe they have a 5pm high or something.

But the s coast seabreeze is approaching them.

Yeah looks like ORH is safely in the negative for the month now...they needed a pretty good departure today. 86/65 isn't going to get it done. They'll need like 94/70 tomorrow which isn't happening.

BDL still has a shot but they'll need the low temp to stay around 70 tonight I think which is going to be tough once that sfc trough comes through and dries us out.
