Hoosier
Regarding IND, it's gonna be interesting to watch. 850 mb temps don't get past 25 or 26C which normally wouldn't be enough to get to 107, but the deep mixing and dry soil may act as compensating factors. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get to 105 by about 2 PM and then struggle mightily for the last degree or two but we'll see.
Hoosier
Bad is relative. It's truly hellish. Like a nightmare. Regardless, 106 is my number for LAF today. under

cyclone77
MLI already at 100. First time I can remember them hitting 100 by noon. Also 1st time they've gone back to back 100+ days since July 2005.

Trent
112 heat index at CLE with 97/77. Wonder if we can cross 100 with a 75+ dewpoint. That would be incredible.
Chicago Storm
It's up to 99 here. Lake breeze is moving through now. Just hit 100 as the wind shift occured. 4th consecutive 100+ day here.
Hoar_Frost
100.3 here (so almost 101). Here, it is the fourth day in a row AOA 100, 11th day in a row AOA 90, and the 26th day AOA 90 this year. Lake breeze/cold front is about 15 miles northeast of here, so maybe another 1-1.5 hours until warming ceases.

Trent
http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/model/ruc00hr_sfc_dewp.gif Look at the blob of 80+ dewpoints over Lake Erie. There will be some 100/80 combos just slightly inland over northern Ohio. Tropical is an understatement.
Geos
Excessive Heat Warnings being dropped for the counties next to the lake. Early morning high of 85°. People are coming outside in the neighborhood! I think they can drop the warnings for Lake & Cook now! HI only 80° here.
cyclone77
At 101/73 here. Not a cloud in sight. 11th 90+ day in a row, 4th 100+. Both streaks will end at this.

Hoosier
IND is probably gonna set some kind of record for most hours above 100. It could end up being something like 8-10 hours given that UHI will slow the cooling.
buckeye
100 here but there seems to be a lot more junk in the sky than yesterday.... forecasted 104 might be tough if that junk doesn't clear.
csnavywx
Sweltering 103 here at noon. Has to be the most miserable day of the heat wave so far. At least we've got a few congestus towers trying to push up vigorously. I would love a repeat of Monday's outflow boundaries at this point. Anything to take the edge off this all-consuming heat and humidity.

beavis1729
Hit 102 IMBY (20 miles due W of downtown Chicago) at 12:30 PM, tying for the hottest of this heatwave. Then the front pushed through, and it's down to 92 at 1:00 PM. Relief has arrived!
Hoosier
ORD and MDW both topped out at 98. So close, yet so far... LOT was mentioning that it was an outflow boundary that was responsible for the early drop.
WxMidwest
102 for 12:54 PM Ob @ KRFD The record is 105, it's not completely out of reach, but highly unlikely, I would guess it will be 103/104 before the wind shift....
Powerball
Well that was all she wrote here. Mad it up to 94*F/95*F before the lake breeze/pseudo cold front moved through. It's back down to 92*F (went down to 91*F) at City Airport now. Metro Airport is at 97*F.
cyclone77
MLI had a bump to 102 between 12-1pm. Record is 105 there, which I don't think they'll get. Still thinking 103 for them. The front's about to hit CR, but I think they'll finally get their 100. Temps immediately behind the front haven't changed too much, and with CR already at 98 and no cloud cover I think they got it. Iowa City has a shot at 103-104.

Unless DTW can somehow sneak to 101F (or higher) before the temps drop, and stay above 76F before midnight (re: rec high mins) we will have made it through this entire heat spell with just one record, that being the record high of 102F on July 4th (also the only 100F reading of the stretch). hawkeye_wx
Up to 98 in CR. Gonna be close again. Just west and north of CR the temp is lower, but the dewpoints jump 10-13 degrees along the front, so it may actually feel more oppressive later today. How are you guys getting intra-hour data from the reporting sites?
