MKE dropped to 95. Looks like a lake breeze kicking in

Yeah it has. Racine will be next to drop probably. 102.1° here ~ likely the high. HI 103°. This ties the hottest temperature I've experienced here in 1995.

Point for tomorrow is 102° again, then 92° for Friday.

Kiss that even slight lake breeze goodbye come August.. The lakes are going to be boiling hot once this record torch is over. Will be cool to see how high they get..

Surface temperature of Lake Mendota up to 82.3 °F according to the buoy, probably hotter nearshore. People aren't so eager to swim in it anymore.

Usually during August the lake breeze it useless anyway. Within 10 blocks of the lake it might still do some good. Hoping for a more typical rest of July from this point forward.

Every 4th of July, they have a soldier stand at attention at a makeshift memorial here in LAF. As I was leaving work, I saw a Marine taking his turn in full regalia at said memorial. Dude has to burning up. Kitty corner from him, a woman had obviously drawn the short straw...as she was on the corner with a sign advertising a big sale at Lazy-Boy. Her boss should be punched in the mouth.

any lake breeze from now until October won't be packing much punch...the Gulf of Michigan is torching

One map is right and one's off - here another one. A lot of those 80°+ readings will disappear after we return to normal over the weekend.

The lake breezes off Lake Superior always pack a punch!

Update: Steady at 102° at the 4pm reading.
