The sun is starting to shine more prominently now after a mostly-cloudy mid-morning from the Wisc. MCS debris cloudiness. It *probably* won't hit 100 here, but 95-97 should be attainable still if this trend of decreasing cloudiness continues. It is also noteworthy that mixing is deeper and dewpoints are lower compared to yesterday.

At least no 100s..

It would actually be kinda annoying if that forecast pans out considering areas north, south, east and west of us will probably be hitting 100, but it's definitely a plausible scenario given LAF underachieving lately.

The all-time high temperature record for Chicago looks like it could be approached later this week. The first opportunity may come Thursday as 850 mb temps rise into the 24-26C range and deep mixing to near 700 mb is progged. Friday is another possibility but the 12z NAM would throw a wrench into that idea.

I'll be volunteering at Summerfest on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday (most notably during the heat of the day Thursday 12-4), so it will be interesting to see how brutal it is those days.

The last 12z EURO showed an end to the heat late Friday. I hope you get some type of relief working outside this week!

Yeah, Saturday's not looking too bad at all, and at least being right near the lakefront, the lake breeze could mitigate the heat slightly.

With that being said, I really hope Milwaukee hits 100F one of these days, because it would be a waste if we don't hit the vaunted triple digit mark for the first time since '95.

Turtle, did you see MSN's point for Thursday? 104F, how often do you hit that in Florida?

I'll believe 104 when I see it, wow. Never gets to 100 in most of Florida but well into the 90s every day with LOTS of humidity. Dewpoints from 70-80 are the average for the entire summer.

Sun is out, up to 87 at MSN and 92 at Middleton.

It's clearing up and temps rising in the lower/mid 80's quickly. There is still a slight chance to still hit 90.

South Central and Western MI already in the 90s too...plus lately the highs have come relatively late in the day. Should be close..

LOT lower highs for the day, which is not suprising given the cloud issues.

They still have 99 for ORD, but 95-ish seems more realistic.

ORD up to 95, which is 1F ahead of where it was for the 2PM OBS yesterday.

Me being too pessimistic regarding cirrus/temp potential ftl.
