Storms N of MKE trying to push south...def worth watching for the MKE crew and maybe far NE IL but that's a real long shot

About our only hope for the near term. Can See the towers east of Milwaukee good.

Feeling pretty good about rain chances over the next several days. The boundary looks to stall out and waffle back and forth over the area. That combined with little vorts riding the heat ridge should get some nice storm clusters going. Hopefully the boundary meanders around enough to give us all good rains.

OFB clearly moving through right now. Turned really gusty about five minutes ago.

MKE down to 83, a 16 degree temp drop from the last observation. Also reported a 44mph wind gust

Most exciting weather event all summer lol

Edit: Down to 77 now

No kidding, our spring this year was basically a nice cool stormy summer, but our summer has been a Las Vegas-like summer. Also, I'm not sure I've ever seen a comment "Squall" in the local hourly obs, but Milwaukee had it due to the gusty winds from the OFB.

Down to 85.8F after being upper 90s prior to the outflow boundary moving through. I guess if we're not going to have any storms anyway, having an outflow boundary in addition to a cold front moving through later will satisfy. At least we don't have to suffer any longer.

Wow, that's really hauling since I looked at it at 5:15.! Will be in here quicker then the NAM predicted at 9pm. 101° I think, today.

Edit: Yeah that was the high. Low 77° so far...

The Carthage College site just dropped from 95° to 82° in 25 minutes!

Awesome satellite image DLL. You can see the smoke making its way into the Lake Superior region. As well as the OFB about to plow through here.

Watched the outflow boundary come in on Lake Mendota, the difference in the surface roughness was easy to follow as it progressed across the lake, also sailboats were going horizontal as it hit them. Very gusty winds just after the passage, probably upwards of 30 mph in the gusts, and the temp fall was quick. Down to 85 °F from 99 °F in minutes.

I was spotting in SW Huntington Co earlier on the storm that was severe issued in Wabash and Miami Cos. Wasn't severe, but lots of heavy rain and lightning! I got a free truck wash. Here are the radar estimated totals. Once again, Huntington got blanked, but outlying areas (beans and corn) got some much-needed rain, 1" + in some areas.
