turtlehurricane
Maybe a tropical cyclone will form over the Great Lakes in the next few months, all we need is an MCV that follows the right path.
daddylonglegs
Turtle- With these lake water temps, next winter is going to be nuts if we can get some very cold air down here...we need some sort of Siberian connection bringing -80F right out of Verkhoyansk, Russia... -50F air over 60F lake water :)
Hoar_Frost
86 here already; should be able to make 90 here locally within the hour. From the radar, that activity in Iowa, especially the lead activity, seems to be falling apart with eastward movement, but I wouldn't be surprised if it clouded up later. If it did cloud up (without attendant rain), I have to wonder how that would modulate convective chances around here.
daddylonglegs
Sun here the last hour... The stuff to the west keeps dying as it moves towards this area and redeveloping further west...need that front to move.
Powerball
Currently 83*F now. Should get to 90*F. Doesn't look like the heat's going anywhere any time soon either.

toronto blizzard
Red and tan is my new best friend! Keep it coming Euro weeklies! That is really just depressing to say the least. Even here in Toronto we are suffering through drought conditions.
Hoar_Frost
Looks like there's a weak outflow boundary from around ORD to JOT to near PNT to around PIA that's providing the focus for some convective development. It will be interesting to watch in the next hour or two how the OFB interacts with the lake-breeze boundary, which itself has forced a cell or two in the UGN area. hawkeye_wx
There was a nice area of 0.50-2.00" of rain to my west and north this morning. It moved slowly and mostly fell apart before reaching CR, but I did get about 0.25"... enough to fill the rain barrels again. It was also nice to have a coolish, cloudy, showery morning.
