Geos
Cooling off quick tonight again. 67° with little to no wind. Forecasted low of 65° will likely bust.
daddylonglegs
Tried sitting out in the garage this evening and the mosquitoes were horrible. Have no idea where they are coming from, but they are huge. Maybe because my yard is a jungle...
cyclone77
I remember a few years back we had a really cool and wet summer, so I went and looked up the data. In MLI they only had 7 90+ days that whole year (2008), and the hottest temp for the whole year was only 92 lol. Seems almost unimaginable that it could be that way now the way this summer is going. Hell we were warmer than that by 10am last Saturday.

Geos
@DLL. Mosquitoes are very hard to come by around here! Haven't seen one since the heat wave started. Actually they start dying off around 95°,plus the drier it is the easier they croke off!

IWXwx
FWA should tack on one more 90° day today, extending their record to 16 consecutive days. That will probably be it for this string, and start another one early next week. Tropical posted her reaction to the latest Euro output:
SpartyOn
64.6/55 @ ACB. It's been beautiful cool up here for the last 5 days. Got down into the upper 40s on S Manitou island on Monday morning.

All the convection in June and July of that year definitely helped, but I didn't realize the summer of '08 was that cool.

Spiders seem to be doing well this year though, and I've got a few spider bites to show for that. Made it down to 57 °F this morning but already up to 85 °F. Similar to an October cold front in Miami.
turtlehurricane
X class solar flare, probably from the big Earth facing cluster but we'll have to wait for the official word to be sure. http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/xray_5m.html

wisconsinwx
I don't know how excited to get that both the NAM and GFS are actually showing rain in the next 84 hours. Looks too good to be true, but nice to see more than one model onboard.

Even if ORD averages only one 90+ degree day per week through the end of august, 2012 will still finish top 10 in Chicago's most 90+ degree days. Hoosier
There was a grass fire in a residential area of LAF last night http://www.wlfi.com/dpp/news/local/large-grass-fire-contained-in-residential-area Another dry day with large temp/dewpoint spreads. Now 92/52 here.
daddylonglegs
I had 91F/46F an hour ago....dew point just went up to 51F... Crispy brown continues. 12Z Euro pokes us with a hot stick Mon/Tues but brings in a nice shot of cooler are middle of the week... So some relief in the cards. daddylonglegs
Not a drought buster, but the GFS continues to show precip (about 1/2 inch) this weekend... I'll take anything...even some clouds would be better then this clam bake.
