phil882 Posted June 28, 2012 Share Posted June 28, 2012 It's possible that they expect development to stop because both the GFS and Euro dissipate Debby before she becomes extratropical. Well it might turn out to be a poor decision, because Ex-Debby is moving straight towards Bermuda. The lack of deep convection currently is likely due to the 25-24 degree water temperatures it is currently traversing south of the Gulf Stream, which might be preventing them from upgrading. However, I'm pretty sure the public in Bermuda will feel like they were caught off guard considering the system looks rather intense with a significant area of tropical storm force winds on the SE side of the system.
