Radar indicated widespread downburst winds across the Richmond

Metro area, perhaps a spin-up tornado mixed in. Difficult to tell

for sure. The new SVR polygon a little confusing as the worst part

of the storm is moving ESE toward Quinton, and it suggests a more

SE track. I believe they are anticipating new development along the

outflow boundary.

Whenever such a wide area of downburst winds moves

through this many structures and power lines, the result

will be very devastating to the local power grid. Pretty

much a case of worst-possible timing for peak intensity

of a storm. Looked to be between 241-259 from Henrico

to Mechanicsville to Richmond proper as the areas for

most damage based upon radar data.

all i saw was straight line winds taking the trees down

I'd be surprised if there was anything more than a brief tornado based on radar. It quickly became outflow dominant.

Thanks for the update. I had been watching it on the radar trying to help her get to the airport. All I saw was straight line winds in the velocity but thought I'd check to see if there was any visual reports.

Nothing confirmed on the ground, everything was radar-indicated. From what Midlo has been telling us, high striaght-line winds were what he was experiencing

is impressive on the outages tho to be expected putting a heavy wind burst through population. a lot of these problems are that our infrastructure sucks.
