Really nice storm up on Georgia ave towards Silver Spring (Ledo's Pizza). Must have had a 50mph gust at least.

i would say at least 50mph here in bethesda. it felt like a little hurricane for a bit...from a wind and rain standpoint, it was one of the better storms i've seen here.

Was down around Conn Ave and Military Rd to 16th St and it was a mess. Small branches everywhere and a good number of 4-6' limbs and a few 8-10' down. Road was flooded where Miltary goes over Beach Dr, drain clogged. My uncle said he though winds where we were at Buck's Rest. were 40 to maybe 50 but the damage along Military was indicative of 50-60mph.

sunday looks decent again.. the trough orientation is good at least. we'll need some sort of short wave with the larger trough still hanging back. the nam has at least enough to kick some stuff off.

Saturday morning low 70.7° and 0.06" IMBY in Columbia on Friday. Just enuf to wet down the turning-brown grass and reinvigorate the shrubs. And for first time this season, no lawn to mow this weekend -- and I'm perfectly OK with that. Turn brown and stay brown, grass! I know you'll be back to ''growing and green'' in the Fall.

see texted for tomorrow

...MID-ATLANTIC AND CNTRL APPALACHIANS...

A SUBTLE SHORTWAVE TROUGH IS FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS THE ERN

SEABOARD ON SUNDAY. THE MODELS DEVELOP MODERATE INSTABILITY ACROSS

THE CAROLINAS EXTENDING NEWD INTO THE DELMARVA. THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD

INITIATE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE APPALACHIANS AND MOVE SEWD

ACROSS ERN PA...MD...CNTRL VA AND WRN NC DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON.

FORECAST SOUNDING AT 00Z/MON ALONG THIS CORRIDOR SHOW MLCAPE OF 1500

TO 2000 J/KG WITH ABOUT 30 KT OF DEEP LAYER SHEAR. THIS COMBINED

WITH STEEP LOW-LEVEL LAPSE RATES SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR STRONG GUSTY

WINDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MORE PERSISTENT MULTICELLS.

It skips over DC and northern VA? This should be interesting.
