ugh, the nightmare scenario in this heat.....no power

if we get 2 or 3 and they all knock out 200k+ could be fun. ;)

the pattern looks potentially stormy daily in the larger area well into next week too.. tho not sure we'll keep the high end risk past the weekend.

I hope everyone in the metro corridor loses power so I can get a good look with my telescope. (yes - I'm being selfish).

Hard to believe it's weakening with such instability, think it's just the mountains.

it might be trying to seperate with the southern body diving harder south. the northern part still looks more or less embedded in the westerlies with an attempt at another bow south of the northern spin. it's still got tons of cape out ahead of it and we should have no trouble sustaining that into the night. want to see more redevlopment on the front end. we gonna get wrecked.

In McLean for the weekend, looks like we will be on the cusp of the storms... I only felt heat like today (got picked up in DC around 530) in July of... 2010? in NYC, when it got to 105.

Storms are exciting but there will be lots of dead people if the power is out tomorrow, probably including me... thank god for Tysons <3

They may be coming at night but it's still 96/74 at DCA as of 7PM... this is the kind of night where if it wasn't going to rain, we would still be ~90 at midnight.

Sounds like a recipe for a DC split

In a wierd sick and twisted way....i kinda want to lose power, I have my generator wired up to rotate between my main fridge and icebox every hour and another circuit for fans in most rooms + tv/cable. I kinda want to test it out so bring it on!

Similarly - we have barely got to test our generator since getting it last year (natural gas one) - 17kw). But I would feel bad for all the folks who would suffer.

All of you wishing to lose power are on crack

I agree 100% on the power issue. I cant stand to lose it. Anwe did for over 3 hours today with no storms around. We arent supposed to get these storms here in SC but I'm watching them closely and hoping they miss me to the north. VA, Maryland and DC can have them.
