SNC is an AWOS (and one that gives funny readings sometimes at that), but region wide dews were generally 69-72 at the ASOS sites, so when all these homes stations are on the high end of the range or even a few degrees above that, one has to be suspcious. What is the probability that the highest dew points occurred exclusively at home stations? Did all the 73+ dew point air point manage to flow around all the official sites all day long over an area of hundreds of square miles?

Yeah SNC is always funky.

OT but a statie gave me a to let today. Was in left lane and he wanted to get by. My eyes were Paying too lck attention to the car thermo. He was screaming at me...kind of lost control. I'm appealing. Scary when a big dude with a sidearm is yelling at you....

I can top that.

I was driving down the Del Marva Peninsula toward a destination of Va Beach. The sun was setting, and the highway jog a bit eastward, such that the sun shown, brilliantly in through the back window of my car. Meanwhile, I had Nine Inch Nails blasting "I want to f you like an animal" blasting away on the radio. Therefore, I didn't hear the sirens, nor see the flickers of the 5 police cruisers that has squarely established that they were formally on a low speed car chase.

Ummm.

I finally noticed and pulled over. Within 5 minutes I was having my rights read to me, and was being patted down ... cars, piled up 5 miles long for gawking purposes oozed by. The charge? Willful possession of a radar detector for the purpose of subterfuge of the speeding laws. Maybe not exactly put that way, but close.

Here's the catch. I did not possess, nor have I ever in my life possessed, a radar detector. But that wasn't good enough. I was sitting with hand cuffs in a strange state, on the side of the road, while old burger king wrappers and other under the seat flotsum was being eviscerated from my vehicle. The had the hood open. They gave that thing a colon-rectal exam that would make a proctologist envious. Of course, they found nothing.

10 mintues later, I'm driving down the road, blasting Nine Inch Nails, contemplating when I ever will drive my car through the Del Marva Pen area, again.

Cops.

Unless there was an in between hour observation that was hotter, it looks like PSF had a high of 90° F. It could've been 91° F or 92° F given that my car thermo read this while driving around. These W to NW winds upslope through here, keeping the extreme heat at bay, while the CT River Valley will roast into the upper 90s to near 100.

PSF had 93° F on July 21st and 22nd last year, which was much lower than many areas. Upslope cooling FTW again.

Should have shown him the Don Kent pic

He has to follow the laws, too, but they have a tough job. They never know when a 59ish 150 lb doctor might take them out.

I've heard Virginia State Police are like that. They have something in their cars that detect radar detectors and can pull you over and tear your car apart until they find it. Not sure if it's still that way, but then again they're the state that has that speeding fine of $1,000 I think, so I guess they take it seriously down there.

No all the homes are in the suburbs with wildlife, vegetation ,and grass..so naturally td's are higher. You're a smart fellow..you should understand this phenomenon

If you were wearing your "Trust me, I'm a meteorlogist" T-shirt, you would have been fine...

Head like a hole.... I love that NIN song. Bow down before the KFS you serve

Mid 70 dews are more isolated to heaviliy treated yards.

Also, I thought 850s are a hair warmer tomorrow? Did 12z cool?

Yea, during sunny summer days...my dews run high and my temps low; this is why the equipment when placed optimally is no where near trees.

I don't have that luxury, unfortunately.

DP on the wx bug is 65*.

Something about this whole post seems very, very disturbing

Happy ending. But perhaps you might have been able to shake them off even sooner if you had also had some KFS printouts lying around (sorry for the bad joke).

What a douche. Guys like that are why there is a "ftp" mentality, even though most cops are pretty cool. A few bad apples ruin it for everyone else

I guess in that state to them, $1000 is peanuts.

I saw the Noho station at 100, but when I clicked it the dp said 41 lol.

Clearly there was grass nearby and it was more like 35.

He tends to weenie out from time to time and pick things like that to verify a forecast. Like when he picked some random bouy during TS Danny to verify his 60 mph winds that he had for cape and islands.
