I'm sure they'd be into that. It would really raise your property value too.

I need to get my wx station soon. Been spending so much money on house stuff it's been crazy.

make sure you put it someplace portable like kevin...so you can move it next to the freezer during the winter and onto the stove top during the summer

He's driving his davis down to the median of I-91 near BDL this morning to get into his summer verification location.

you want to give us all the $500 reimbursement?

probably because that would be a horrible waste of time and energy. LOL

Hey I'm just saying those types of sensors drift - and badly depending on the environment they are in - and it's usually in the high direction as Tip noted. For $500 you're almost to the cost of the ASOS sensor.

Where is yours situated? I know you have a huge open field right in YBY..so I'm assuming it's there.. I don't think you had it when Will and i were there

i actually moved.

i got a new one anyway and separated the anemometer from the rest. have the sensors mounted on a pole attached to the side of my deck

2% is badly?unless you have other data? Are we talking about the Pro versions?

Compared to last July when noon readings were 96/69 everywhere this is pedestrian. 91/72 here.

Well I wouldn't say this is pedestrian... since a few locations will challenge their record for warmest June high on record. But yeah a 3 day heat wave isn't overly exciting.

They're cheap. That's their technology. They measure humidity and back into dew point. I'm guessing people with home stations don't do any kind of regular calibration/maintenance.

You hit the nail on the head. The Davis weather stations are known to drift, especially in regards to DP, and sometimes temp. Calibration and QC verification through the MADIS QC checks are a must every year. I have owned various Davis weather instruments over the 17 years and have mine calibrated every year or so.

Certainly for the valleys in June this is hot but here it is meh, hell we had 92 last year on June 8th.

Good to know, how much does calibration cost for Pro 2 sensors?

Well it is hot everywhere. If they valleys are normally a couple degrees warmer during the hottest of the hot this should be no different.

There's no question it's an impressive heat for this early in the seasons (with dews around 70 today) so I'm not sure what you're arguing. Any time you come close to challenging an all-time monthly record that's something.
