I did an 11 mile run this AM and some more damage touring.

All of the damage is on the NW side of town..From my house NW.

I counted 28 other trees/partial trees down today in areas I didn't drive yesteday..so well over 45 that I saw.

One on a car, one on a house, I saw one snapped power pole(maybe from a tree?)

There are a few neighborhoods NW of me that were really hard hit with a tree or limbs down in just about every house.

2 rds were closed with trees all the way across wires and they wouldn';t let me run past(CLP was there).

I would estimate winds def gusted to 60 mph in the hardest hit areas..possibly as high as 65. My yard gusted to prob 55-58

Can we do it again today? We can only hope. Sun is out

Were you at home for that? congrats

What i think happened was the core strengthened as it moved close to and over my hood with the quarter sized hail and winds.and as it continued moving N it collapsed which would explain the heavier damage just NW

I'll try and get some pics up this morning. Have alot of yard clean up to do and ab day party to be at by 1:00

Joe your delusional mind thinks nor Easters and 50s. Monday could have very heavy rain in fact with temps barely making low 70s for you. So flooding rains aren't far fetched for some. Nobody said and meant nor Easter and 50s except joking about a day 10 euro op which of you believed, shame on you.

Socked in with moderate rain at home, at work now. Work only had .03 of rain yesterday while at home I had .89. I heard RT 32 was pretty bad Kev, that and RT 14 in Scotland area

Thanks for the report Steve. Yeah could see the microburst from a mile away on rt 14 in Scotland and also on Mt. Tolland. Thankfully the severe was easy to pick out on radar... I felt we did a nice job targeting the areas. These days can be a challenge.

Could you see the microburst over Tolland on velocity?

That cell sort of split which may have helped things.

Yeah the storm initially did damage and flooding over Manchester and then the supercell split. The left mover in Tolland weakened quickly (that weakening was what did the damage when the core collapsed) and the right mover that moved through Willimantic and Scotland actually strengthened a bit.

Here is yesterday, Note the weenie cell that went over you.

LOL..That thing literally strengthened right over my house..As if it knew where I lived. Classic.

So funny after what we talking about..when I said all I wanted was 1-2 trees down in my yard. I got exactly what i wished for and then some

While Wiz is concerned about twigs I try to find the areas of concentrated/impressive damage. Seemed to me a number of Litchfield County towns were hard hit as was Willimantic, Scotland, Tolland, Manchester, and Vernon.

Yeah looks like that was the case when we were going back and forth yesterday, talking about what happened. Even the products on the regular NWS radar sites noted a wind max near Tolland.

Yes, man I was a very nervous Dad Granddad yesterday as my daughter was bringing my Grandson to his Allstar game in Willington and ran smack into Kevs storm just as it exploded. The kids talked for a half hour when they got home about how scared they were, but he is such a weenie he told me that it was awesome.

Do those products give you an idea of what wind speeds were?

I don't have GR2 like Ryan does which will give a much better idea, but there was a pixel with greater than 25kts which is pretty good for OKX. Just seeing the max there is enough to note that winds were strong. I think yu saw 50-60 stuff in those areas to your NW.
