Turtle
There is Don Kent park down the street from me in Quincy. I attended the dedication of Don Kent Park on Quincy Shore Drive back in 1996. That's the location of the former Kent's Carpetland that his family ran for many years before a fire burned the place down (as I recall). He had a weather station on the roof of the store and did his reports to the first radio station he worked for, WJDA in Quincy (now a low power hispanic station in Boston as I heard). When the land was cleared, the MDC (now DCR) decided to build the park and dedicate it to Don. He was very happy and honored to be remembered by his hometown (and mine, too!). Here's the article about the dedication from the Patriot Ledger: http://www.patriotle...ted-to-Don-Kent LOVE the photo Jerry!!! Wish I had that opportunity. --Turtle
weathafella
What about Bruce Schwegler ? Bruce did not have the status. Truthfully especially in his early years he was not that good. He was a Midwesterner and it took awhile for him to understand the NE climate.

Someone will pay for that... Don Kent is my all time favorite, though. "Good morning everyone"...very little on the web about him, only a couple of youtube videos with him.
