78/60 and 80/54 are below normal for your area next week.

That looks a bit optimistic too for early next week...but we'll see. Even if that pans out, that is below normal for your area. BDL's normal is 83/61 by mid next week which is a good aproximation for just a few miles north in Springfield.

Looks below normal next week. I will say that Mon - Fri average -2 below normal at all 4 major climo sites and probably normal at the minor in BDR.

Yeah I'm not really seeing how we average above normal next week...the only way would be if we sneak another heat bubble in really late in the week, but right now it looks like any heat stays well SW of here.

I'm pretty positive at least Mon-Wed is below normal...but things could always change in this time frame.

AWT normal to above thru day 10. Lol at the the cold and wet talk from the last few days

It will be relief regardless...its definitely a big cooldown from this heat wave no matter how much Kevin wants to spin it...just because its not a "54F record low-max" nor' easter doesn't mean it won't be a much more comfortable pattern in terms of sensible wx. It looks like we could have some nice low 70s type highs again when that ULL moves over after the rain.

Man next week will have a good cool shot. That's a -3 to -4 SD trough. I don't see much if any above normal stuff to be honest. The end of the period may be bootleg night time temps or those that want above normal but highs don't look impressive. Also may feature a good amount of rain.

My ex and kids will be vacationing tomorrow through the following Friday on the Cape. Looks like she picked the wrong week.

poor weather at the cape is always a possibility any time of the season. I've never had any luck out there so tend to vacation further south these days

makes sense-would love to come up in Sept some time after all the crowds are gone.

I've actually never had a bad week there. Growing up I spent a good chunk of my summers there but more recently I've been going for a week in either July or August and the weather is normally fantastic. If anything you wind up with a tremendous amount of clear days with Cu development suppressed thanks to the sea breeze compared to inland areas.

sep is pretty tough to beat out here because it's still 70s/80s and the water is warm. crowds much less.

it's right about this time of year when things sort of flip and it becomes much better here. the ocean influence becomes a really nice moderating influence.

Yeah. My whole family used to do the 10 days around July 4th for about 20 years and the weather was almost always (with maybe 1 exception) phenomenal.

September is tough to beat anywhere in SNE... Block Island, Newport, Cape etc. Of course you have to watch out for a hurricane lol.

It's funny because up here we get stuck with a lot of hazy days filled with Cu and you get hours and hours of BKN skies. But along the shore where I grew up you get a ton of days with no Cu development at the beaches thanks to the sea breeze. The Cape gets more of them with days and days of cloudless skies.

Really, I've had frost by mid September as long as I can remember. Last year was 9/15 or something like that. Frost in September, heavy snow in October.

Well I was mainly referring to freezes (32F). We haven't had a very cold SON in awhile. Autumn is no longer a fall month.
