Cool down and trough return June 23rd-27th seals the deal

LOL the gfs is so ridiculous with the trough for next week. Blocking is massive over the top as well. I definitely favor a stretch of negative anomalies and unsettled weather chances for next week, but i'd have to think the 12z gfs is way overdone with the intensity..

The European model is even more ridiculous than the gfs...sub-540 thicknesses and < 0 850s over marquette at hour 150...absurdly deep upper level low swings through Ohio Valley and spawns a sub1000 mb low over NJ, then 988 mb over upstate NY at hr 180...on june 25th.

Yes very anamolous AEERAKT. The closer we get the more negative this period becomes. End of June Nor'easter would be cool, still way out though.

I thought Euro was overdone and it was for the Sunday trough etc. Seeing development as modeled now makes much more sense.

I see lots of blues coming up in the next 2 weeks. The 4th tries to warm up, but when models show a trough in the east..I can't get excited for it. It probably means more showers/tstms and maybe below normal surface temps.

Never did see the sun today, cool but getting humid. I see Bos was negative again today.

Warminista phail. Overnight runs continue the theme of a trough setting up over NE. The transient warmth later this week will be kicked outta here quickly.Nice.

LOL..you have no idea how to read those maps if that's what you think they show

Hmmmm. Looks as if I might know a little more than you think. Things are evolving nicely to keep your phanthom torch at bay into July now. Get ready to change your sig........again.

The Euro has a setup that resembles some periods in 2009 summer...where a sfc warm front stalls south of us and we end up with 66 and rain...maybe S CT gets 77 and tstorms. But first we have to deal with that big upper level low...thats going to be impressive to follow...esp to our west.

Was that the Summer that had a very rainy June and early July? I think there was some very chilly air around the 4th of July.

LOL, I told Kevin that last night. Early July with the heavy rain and crazy hail in MVY.

Yes it was cool and rainy a lot of those first 6 weeks. I think we'll have a chance or two at a cool rain event over the next week after this mini torch is over.

Ensembles are pretty much against any return to heat for the foreseeable future after this week.

I loved 2009's summer

I think we turned on the AC two days the entire warm season and if my memory is correct it was in the early spring. I think we average around 20 days or so with the ac on here, usually have a nice breeze off the water.

The weeklies also were not bullish imo.

Lot's of excitement in this thread.

70s are nice in the summer. This past week has been so nice...keep the windows open at night for those crisp temps and then enoy the 70F temps during the day without sweating profusely.

This is the way to run a cool summer...I don't want it to rain everyday.

Yes... a dry cool. None of this "records show cool" because its 66/66 and mist every day. This is a much better way to be cool and pleasant. Some of our "cooler" summers are just cool and swampy humid... this has been so nice with dews in the 40s for the past like week before today.

I can't recall nights of 40s down in SE MA like they had over the last week.

Yea fantastic, after a couple of days of transient heat we are back to nice cool weather with enough sun and rain to keep the lawns gardens happy.

Perfect. It really has been an exceptional stretch lately. How long until Blizz claims that all his torch hype was just an act to stir the pot?

My wife loves hot weather so I'm happy she'll get a few days of transient heat. I could do without it. Looking forward to league golf Thursday. The only positive to the heat I can think of is you can pick up a club or more in distance. I've already started hydrating for working in the heat the next 2 days. Tons and tons of water.
