Mr Torchey
well ginx started this thread on the 16th....and called for a cool down for the 23-30th. yesterday made it to 85F at BDL...and that pulled a whopping 0 on the day and today will be well below...same for tomorrow and same for wednesday. that's all i'm saying. it was a good call by ginx. Of course it was, -4 here today.......my point is the wed-sun time period looks much warmer than it did a couple days ago, two days below normal for most spots, and on Sunday when looking at the 7 day period starting today, eveyone will be above normal possibly well above normal for this period. Normals are getting close to 83 by the end of the week for BDL I believe. It's also possible BDL low temp early Thursday may pull it down some, if high is 85 or 86. It doesn't though. Since Friday we have been saying the weekend time Fri-Sun looks warmer. Mon-Wednesday was when it would be coldest. I mean you need a transition period. It's not going to go from upper 60s to lower 70s one day and 90 the other. As the ULL pulls out, temps gradually warm. That's how it always looked. Just because we did not go into specifics, doesn't mean that it was overlooked.

CoastalWx
Exactly. Thank you And if the models have any idea for Friday, it could be a little more inclement which would obviously have an outcome with temps.

Ginx snewx
This cool down has really fallen flat. Wed is normal, then above th-sun and beyond. Wish we had bet:) 57 at 530 at the end of June in Central Death Valley Ct is torchaliscious.
Mr Torchey
This week will likely be cooler than normal no doubt. No way it is warmer than normal. Going forward looks more like summer time wx, but that means possibly a mix of some cooler and warmer than normal days. I can't say for sure that it is solidly above...looks like early July could be near normal of a little above or below. Really your reading comprehension skills suck. People discussing model output is not a forecast. The overall theme in this thread is that a trough will cool down the SNE area, lead to showers and self destructive sun days which will push departures down leading to a below normal week. Exaggerate much? I guess we need to define what a week is? Is a week only 5 days monday-friday, I always thought of it as 7 days. My guess, from the beginning was an above normal week starting today ending Sunday.

Typhoon Tip
I looked at the 12z ECM operational and its staggeringly hot... wow. Then a read this from NCEP'S headliner: ...ALL-TIME JUNE RECORD HIGHS IN JEOPARDY ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST THIRD OF THE COUNTRY... In fact, Saturday and Sunday now has 19 and 20C at 850, on a deep layer well mixed west wind at all levels. That's a hot weekend, period, should that verify. Its always been like that, if your telling me this weeks forecast has not moderated significantly over the last few days then so be it. NWS and models say other wise and that was my point. If I am wrong, and forecasts have not significantly moderated across the board for the wed-sun timeframe then 5post me, you have the pull. Whatever lol. Ginx snewx
Not boring, what a three day stretch, Sat Severe, Sun just perfect, Mon severe. Cold pools produce anytime of year. Anytime I see huge SDs at 5 H I get real interested. Perhaps my -2 for the end of June week ending 6/30 might be a little high it still is much cooler and refreshingly not boring. Ryan posted the other day about how boring it has been, and it has been, I posted it could end with a bang and it did for some of us. The pics Phil posted were stunning. I just saw some from Norfolk Va that were just as beautiful. Now about Debby......

My guess, from the beginning was an above normal week starting today ending Sunday. The post from Saturday was meant for the work week. We then made a bet, (well no money) about BOS where we specified the week as Mon-Sun. I said it would be just below normal and still feel that way.
