Cool down and trough return June 23rd-27th seals the deal

No matter how much you're interested in weather... no one can possibly be interested in whether we finish -0.2 or +0.2. Unfortunately the ones who do are trying to troll and hide behind their "love of weather."

This is a really good point, Ryan. We should clarify the notion of 'normal'. What's being argued is above or below the AVERAGE. If we really want to classify 'normal', we should used SD as the parameter

NWS okx has now substantially increased temps this week into the weekend. No doubt this week will be above normal, not even an issue now, not even close.

OKX forecast highs here

wed 81

thur 85

fri 87

sat 88

sun 85

Hopefully bdl can do this, if so it will be an impressive come back.

heavy rains commenced here. NE mass will get a couple inches it would appear.

scott what is your thinking regarding amount in ne mass i.e worst case. just wondering about another flooded basement.

Well overall probably around an inch, but if you get a slow moving line of storms...there is always the possibility of more. It's a little too early to say if you will get nailed with that.

Spiking the ball quite early.

Not at all, the "cool down" was supposed to be for the last week of June. Temps thursday-sun will be above normal across southern new england, and potentially well above normal over western southern new england. I have thought this for a few days and feel even more so today.

i'm confused...my calendar must be wrong.

does today not count as part of the last week of june?

what about tomorrow?

how about wednesday?

Ok Phil, temps for wed - sun have not been adjusted higher across sne, and the cool snap and trough look just as impressive today as it did yesterday, two days ago or a week ago.

OKX has bumped temps 5-10+ degrees for the wed-sun time frame. The numbers wont lie come Sunday evening.

Cool down has fallen flat? Euro ensembles horrible? This is still a -3 to 4 SD trough. Those are 500mb heights...it does not correlate to -3 to -4 SD surface cold. This looks as good as it dd several days ago. Many areas will be stuck in the 60s here tomorrow and Wednesday., more-so tomorrow. Thursday may be normal to a hair above in places...especially western and southwest SNE. The Friday-Sunday potentially much warmer, but with a front nearby draped over the area...it will be tough to pin point times of precip. Could even be a day where BOS has SE winds.

well ginx started this thread on the 16th....and called for a cool down for the 23-30th.

yesterday made it to 85F at BDL...and that pulled a whopping 0 on the day and today will be well below...same for tomorrow and same for wednesday. that's all i'm saying. it was a good call by ginx.
