Parsley
should have a better shot tonight as that trough swings through. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.... I told myself based on the forecasts going into the weekend I wasn't watering any gardens. So far, I have not been rewarded for my patience. We'll see what tonight brings. tombo82685
Could use more, It would be nice to not have to water the garden for 2 nights in a row. i work at a golf course, we are cutting grass under an eighth of an inch, we haven't watered since friday. You dont just lose all that soil moisture on days like this where their is a ton of humidity. On sunny windy low humidity day sure, but not today. You will be fine tonight. MGorse
One can see where the worst of the current building drought is from Baltimore stretching up towards Philly. You can see things weakening or dying before getting close enough to help with any significant in our building drought. I figured it worked for Grother, LOL. why not try it out to see if we can get some BITCHING RAINS. LOL I was hoping you were not serious.
MGorse
I must say, I am disappointed that the convection has trended down at this point. It looked good there for awhile but at least there is additional convection to our west.
Sunny and Warm
Sorry, I have a rain gauge and that is what it says- very localized heavier amount. Do you have a stratus rain gauge? you didn't have 1.25", and it is unsupported by doppler estimates as well as surrounding gauges. The two gauges closest to you currently show 0.71" and 0.72". One is 1.25 miles from you house directly to the west and the other is 3 miles to your south. Doppler estimates are in the 0.60-1.00" range for that area, which jives with the other readings. I know you are enthusiastic, but you enjoy reporting too many extremes, whether it is snowfall amounts, rain rates, lack of t-storms, and temps. Just enjoy what you get Mike. Maximum lawman
Whats causing it? The instability looks solid interms of cape and LI. Best shear is north though. Is it a lack of trigger? I think this next line is a good one. CAPE is great, PW is 2.3, LI is great, Philly is the place to be... except the timing isn't great coming in near sunset. MGorse
Whats causing it? The instability looks solid interms of cape and LI. Best shear is north though. Is it a lack of trigger? I think the initial convection had help from the terrain then roled eastward and eventually away from the stronger lift. The convection farther to the west has stronger forcing with it due to its proximity to the incoming short wave trough. There is better shear north compared to south. Tatamy
A wind gust to 28MPH was the best it could muster with what was left of that bow here in Tatamy. Mostly CTC but a few CTG strikes. 0.14" with it - the rain is just about over.
