pazzo83
The dusting in NYC the other night turned the roads into a disaster, I'm told... Yea I don't think the city was expecting the temps to drop that fast. They sure salted the HELL out of the roads after that though.

pazzo83
ok, well i was just going off what was done last week with the clipper, someone made a separate thread for it. If the weekend storm ends up occurring maybe we can just have y'all's thread and our thread pinned. In the MD/DC/VA forum they only have one obs thread for the whole forum, but they pinned it for their storm today.

Of course you need to slow down in snow, but 5 MPH is a tad ridiculous.

famartin
I remember doing 25-30 on US 1 in central NJ during the December 5, 2002 storm, heading from Trenton to New Brunswick. 5-10 is pretty sad.

I got into a bad habit of driving like I was in a 3rd world country when I lived there (read: disobeying all traffic laws/signals/markings). Good thing I sold my car when I moved to NYC. Bluescat1
Why does I195 seem to be a natural snow barrier for Central Jersey? I can't tell you how many storms I have tracked and it seems like the precip. just wants to stop there..

gump
I am in the process of coming from 195 down the parkway to Toms River. Went from nothing up there to a coating down in TR, but that coating killed the roads. Still coming down lightly.

Vandy
I think your odds are pretty good. Last year my flight home to Philly (that I booked months in advance) ended up being the day after your 20+ inch December snowstorm. This year my flight home is on Monday... jwilson
I'm using a proxy, as well, since my ISP isn't updating accordingly. For those that haven't seen the 12Z Euro I pulled this from another site: Certainly looks impressive. Didn't hear good things concerning the 18Z Nam & GFS models, but I will temper my enthusiasm either way until the show from this afternoon is repeated. At any rate, the present system ended up much further north than progged. We ended up with pretty decent snow back here. I expected nothing.
