Looking forward to those hot summer nights...the air is still ...dews are in the low-mid 70's..all you hear is the hum of a/c thruout the land..lightning bugs flashing in the sultry night air....fans blasting/ those with long hair and no a/c with hair up in buns and tied back with double or triple pony-o's,,cold cloths dabbing foreheads, sheets stuck to bodies as they toss and turn in the uncomfortable funk..leather couches just drenched with azz imprints as folks are too hot to move/get up and when they do..the chairs and couches get up with them...rolls of Tp being used in one sitting..as it keeps getting balled up and stuck...mornings that dawn hazy/smoggy and sultry..with lows only in the mid-upper 70's...this is what summer is all about

LOL mid to upper-70s for lows. You probably can't even remember the last time BDL had a low in the upper-70s. It happens on average once every 13 years.

It happened one or two years ago.

Last time was in 2006 with a low of 78 on August 3rd. In the last couple of decades it's more like a once every 5-6 year event, but the long term average is ~13 years thanks to a 56 year gap at one point between occurrences of upper-70s lows at BDL.

No, no, KFS promised 80F lows for several nights last summer.

Sig worthy, except it is so long, and pretty ludicrous

So I was just looking at our chances for a 100 F reading this coming Wednesday and Thursday. And there is actually a chance there. Using the Richardson Number to determine our mixing, it looks as if we will be mixing up to 850 mb on Wednesday and Thursday. Our 850 mb temperatures are forecasted to be either 19 or 20 C. Doing out the math and calculations assuming a good mix down from 850 mb and a lapse rate of 3.5/1000 ft. Our surface temperature will be 99.9 F. Therefore, it may actually be possible for someone to touch the century mark.

Euro just brutal with 4 days now of heat.. 2 shots at 100+ on Wed and Thurs and even Fri upper 90's ..with dews near or over 70. Not sure where some folks are getting low 90's from and low dews lol

Euro also lost any major cooldown in long run and actually has another torch days 9-10..

It does cool it down somewhat..but not the below normal it had yesterday

You aren't going to see dews near 70 AND temps close to 100F...if temps do get to 100F dews will probably be in the low 60's...if dews are near 70F we're probably looking at 94-96F.

Thursday probably has the greater likelihood of seeing the highest dewpoints of the two days (Wednesday/Thursday). On Wednesday 850mb dews are pretty much running 5-8C with 925mb dews around 10C or so...Thursday 850mb dews increase to around 15C with 925mb dews over 10C.

With strong mixing on Wednesday dews should mix down during the day then the next question will be what are the sfc winds like...if they are more westerly that will mix the dews even lower but OTOH boosting temps up by a few degrees in the typical downsloping spots like BDL.

Thursday a westerly wind could still mix dews down but it probably wouldn't be as significant as Wednesday given the greater presence of low level moisture.
