I'm pretty stoic when it comes to adversity. All this blathering on about a few days in the upper 80's (maybe a 90) as if a molten glob of the sun is going to engulf us is very amusing. I'll work and sweat and then go golfing and walk the course not ride. No big deal. It is awesome that we are about to turn the corner and start heading downhill (NPI). 10/4/87 (I think) was our earliest significant snowfall that I can remember. It's still below zero and snowing on Denali. Sigh.

One of my students (now former student) is snowboarding on Mt. Hood this week

Pete... I realized that we are only about 3 months out from "possible snow" here in the Northern Greens. I'm not sure about the Berkshires, but mid/late September snows are possible up here at the summits.

A couple falls ago back in 2009, our first snowfall was the night of September 30th into October 1st... really only like 3 months and a week away. Just the thought of the possibility of walking in snow in 13 weeks is enough to get through this hot spell.

KNYC - 72//57 today, predominantly overcast except for a few brief PM sunny intervals. Perhaps a little gift from SNE and a reminder that it's really not all that far away, well at least the Fairfield County line isn't (30 miles to the ne of midtown Manh. or about 1 hour without traffic). Too bad we don't receive too many of these gifts when they are really needed - Dec thru March.

But now, I'll have to have courage and brace myself for this Wed and Thurs - mid 90's?

And please, do not exile (deport) me back to the NYC subforum. Thanks.

I don't think it's even that far. To the NYC line (the first Hutch exit off 95 in the Bronx) from here is about a dozen miles give or take. I've made it from Gramercy Park to Greenwich in 45 minutes with no traffic, and while that's not Tribeca or the Financial District, it's still pretty far south.

You're right (assuming you take the Bruckner (l would be less confident with the Grand Central - Whitestone Expressway combo, but who knows, it depends). But never take the CBxEx (unless you're masochistic or suicidal)!

And then again, is Greenwich really a part of SNE (or just technically)?

Footnote - I'm raising this question because it is part of the OKX forecasting region(perhaps that may have corrupted it).

Really Peter...really?

Hazardous waste and the 1 year I did construction never did what 8th graders can do to you...lol

Bring on summer mudda fookers!

LOL, you teachers have it so cushy. Summers off, every holiday off (with pay), short days, snow days, teacher conference days, health care, a pension, union protection. Then you have the nerve to complain? Pfffft.

J/K, I could never do what you do. I'd snap by lunch time on the first day. I'd rather break rocks in the searing hot sun.
