It doesn't mean you can't go to the beach and have beers. Especially since this is the temp I love.

Clouds would be one thing but when the sun is the strongest it gets, and the skies are sunny its perfect, granted 95 and humid would be better but we make the most of our weekends, Saturday was 77 or 79 I believe which was incredible. Sunday had a nice east wind which let the kids boogie board and the water almost felt warmer than the air. The HHH's will come, I enjoy it all as long as the sun is shining.

Yeah it was great no doubt, but a little chilly for the beach etc. Good BBQ weather.

i'm being serious. LOL. i had an ex that went to FU...they had beach parties down at the shore all the time...it just didn't look like water that people swim in (and no one did).

i just figured with that armpit BDR literally the next town over, that the pollution level was too high.

Water quality is definitely worse down that way than areas east of New Haven but in general it's pretty good in Long Island Sound. It's improved substantially in the last 20 years too.

That said I wouldn't swim most places following a 3"+ rainstorm.

LOL...the water is very clean here except after rainstorms etc. when was the last time you actually checked it out?

yeah - well even here we will have closures after rain...that's not too unusual.

i guess it's good that people can swim there.

that said, i don't think you could pay me to do it.

with BDR and HVN to the east - both big ports with lots of industrial crap going on - and stamford just to the west....and no good mechanism to flush the water out of the Sound...nasty. LOL.

Not sure Phillip. I have only been here for 5 years now, and while its not Truro, or parts of the RI coast or back home, its all we have. The beach is packed every weekend, and the water is packed with people. On the east side of Penfield Reef its an all sand bottom which is rare for this part of the sound. I have never had an issue with the water, never met anyone that did, but like Ryan said swimming in any sound or bay after a heavy rain would be ridiculous.

Have a good night!!

You probably wouldn't feel that way if you lived around there. I've never had a problem swimming in Branford/Guilford.

CT shore is not very good

Good thing you don't live there. I probably wouldn't go to any of the public beaches in CT... far too crowded and just not that great... but most of the private/town beaches are pretty awesome.

Lots of rain, humid conditions. Remember the big hail in FMH near July 4th?

Obviously this is all tongue in cheek.

oh yeah i was there for that..That hailer missed FMH though..It crushed MVY..We had peas..but nothing like the Vineyard had.

This year I'll be in NH July 3-6. Hopefully monster storms up there

65/56, a high 68, (64 @2k). Here we are on the 18th of June and still no high heat. Looks like a day or two of ugliness then back to schweetness.

Pete... I realized that we are only about 3 months out from "possible snow" here in the Northern Greens. I'm not sure about the Berkshires, but mid/late September snows are possible up here at the summits.

A couple falls ago back in 2009, our first snowfall was the night of September 30th into October 1st... really only like 3 months and a week away. Just the thought of the possibility of walking in snow in 13 weeks is enough to get through this hot spell.

I'm pretty stoic when it comes to adversity. All this blathering on about a few days in the upper 80's (maybe a 90) as if a molten glob of the sun is going to engulf us is very amusing. I'll work and sweat and then go golfing and walk the course not ride. No big deal. It is awesome that we are about to turn the corner and start heading downhill (NPI). 10/4/87 (I think) was our earliest significant snowfall that I can remember. It's still below zero and snowing on Denali. Sigh.
