Mikehobbyst
Please discuss if the emerging El Nino and the current -SOI and -NAO spell another year w/out a summer for us. Are we going to be backdoored or in a backdoorish pattern through the 4th of July and beyond.

Isotherm
Lol, maybe he likes it that way. I was going to make a comment, but then I decided it wasn't for the weather section.
NickD2011
Yesterday's rainstorm seemed to have changed the pattern, similar to how the storm in the 3rd week of April changed the pattern to our recent wet one. I don't want another summer of 2009 (unless we get Pulse 87.7 back since working there was my favorite part of that summer)
uncle W
there haven't been many hot summers that had a coolish June...1977 and 1955 were two examples of a cool June and Hot July and August...
NEXtreme
Ive been following Joe Bastardi's tweets ands he's been doing a hell of a job the past few months. His call since the winter was and still is for a cooler summer compared to the last two. Anyhow here are some of his tweets which are very interesting: Joe B: Weatherbell MJO study shows amplitude in summer MJO promotes changing patterns where heat cant hit and hold. Forcing coming from dev nino June July August phase charts with temps for those looking beyond sound bite weather 2 is where we are aimed pic.twitter.com/HVCeGSoV Notice how phase 6 is cool in summer, but is a blow torch in March, where we got stuck for 2 weeks? Perhaps later this summer we get in 6 The shots of hot, relative to averages are getting cut down each time. CFS daily off weatherbell site has cool July pic.twitter.com/BEvVdSKF
