PSUBlizzicane2007
This stuff is crazy. My parents live east of Gulf Breeze, and while they're fine (especially after my mom who didn't know about the flooding had to turn around because of roadway flooding in GB and the bay bridge being at a standstill), many reports of water coming into people's homes, as well as just massive, massive flooding. The worst I've heard is around 9th and Airport in Pensacola. A lot of pics from that area.
janetjanet998
Dam Failure Reported Near Mobile, Ala. from your link Pensacola: Historic Rainfall The second flash flood emergency was issued early Saturday afternoon for Escambia County, Fla., including the Pensacola area. Pensacola International Airport recorded 12.99 inches of rain Saturday as of 4 p.m. local time, the second-highest daily total on record for Pensacola. The last time Pensacola officially received more rain in a single calendar day was October 5, 1934, with 15.29 inches.

CandymanColumbusGA
I just arrived back from Mobile (went to a wedding). Some of the rainfall rates we drove through were incredible, comparable to some of the crazy Florida thunderstorms I experienced growing up. I stayed mainly in Downtown Mobile and it wasn't terrible along Government Ave. Driving back this afternoon, everyone was going about 10 mph on I-165 since they couldn't see. It rained the ENTIRE drive back to Columbus, about a 4 hr drive. I've never experienced such widespread, much needed rain in a LONG time! The 12"+ reported out of Pcola are insane! Met1985
Looks like a long night tonight down here. Moisture just streaming in from the gulf. They are calling for 2-3 inches up here in the mountains. I would think we could see some totals down there may 30 inches.

NavarreDon
Just got home from vacation last night. We were in Navarre, FL (Just east of Gulf Breeze) for the storms. While we didn't see the rates they got to the west, we had some very heavy rainfall to deal with over a four day period. My wife was quite upset that I was content to "Watch the weather that was ruining our vacation." Just some amazing rainfall rates for the extreme western panhandle & eastern Alabama area. Here is a link to some info from the Pensacola News-Journal. http://www.pnj.com/article/20120611/NEWS01/120611019/-1/7daysarchives/Flooding-Counties-damage-tolls-taking-shape
Darly314
NE Florida needed the rain also; The Osceola National Forest is about 18-20 miles from where I live. We had several days a week of smoke for a month until Beryl, fires southwest of Jax, north of the Ga. line, and from the SE. It was soaked up in a day, even the 5-8 inches of T storms that followed, in the next week or so, left only green. Now we are seemingly headed into another drought.
