StormDude81
This storm is decent looking for being so late at night, and the storm seems like it wants to start spinning also, having a damaging wind event or tornado at 4am, isn't good either way
EasternUSWX
The MCS looks to dive into the warm front line and create a super line lol

ksstormhunter
Just pushed out an update to my matrix. Right now, I am showing areas from Scranton, PA to Findley, OH to Jamestown, NY to Elmira, NY as the highest threats. Tracking indices of LI's of -9, SFC CAPE 3,760 J/KG, 0-3KM CAPE 332 J/KG, and 0-1KM Shear is around 18 m/s. Seeing a greater than 50% chance for an isolated tornado. Winds seems to be the big event with forecast gusts from 75-85 mph possible. Thoughts...

JamieOber
Wonder how important sun is today? Doesn't look like much sun possible, but that of course could change fast.
Jmister
Sun should play a role in how serious the storms become. It looks like the C Pa area will be clearing out starting around 10. The storms will have had a solid 4-5 hours of destabilized airmass to work with once they initialize in Ohio/West PA. 7:15am visible

canderson
Very, very ominous-looking (with thunder and light rain presently) in Harrisburg this morning. I figured we'd be out of the game for both this morning and later this afternoon's events. To you guys up north/northwest/west today, thoughts with you as the line moves through. Be safe! Jmister
The southerly shift in "MDT" region makes sense because there is still ongoing storms/clouds throughout southern and central NY state. This should limit them from the worst storms. Everyone here will be in the best area in terms of instability. I'm sure this will wake up people in the Philadelphia forum! Santa Clause
What threats should we look for today?? I'll only have my cell phone on me and radio much of the day! That clearing may have everything to do with who gets destabilized enough for strong to severe weather.

Jmister
Primary threat is an organized line of storms capable of very strong wind over a large area. The timing looks like late afternoon for north central and west, and evening for southern/eastern areas. Here was the 9z HRRR valid for 5:15pm today:
