sauss06
Looking at the Euro Weeklies, CFS and daily runs of domestics....the bulk of the Summer heat may very well be ova for us North of the Mason Dixon line. ...once we get through this week of course. I'm ok with that.

sauss06
Same. Hopefully we get rain as well. a couple days of a steady rain would work well, a slow soaker!
hckyplayer8
Same. Hopefully we get rain as well. I think the fact that we are starting to see more and more precipitation the past week or so is an indicator of a subtle change of the pattern. Not a major reversal, but a more general relaxation of the bridging between the CUS death ridge and the Bermuda high. The long range OP's certainly give us a chance for more rolling waves to dip down and give us shot after shot of more mild air.
JamieOber
a couple days of a steady rain would work well, a slow soaker! Crazy ass NAM gives us a super soaker. Not a major reversal, but a more general relaxation of the bridging between the CUS death ridge and the Bermuda high. djr5001
MDT precip: MONTH TO DATE 1.63 SINCE JUN 1 5.92 I'll quit bitching about our lack of rain until you guys get yours. :/ the 5.92 looks impressive... except that almost 5.3" of that fell during 4 of the last 46-47 days
MAG5035
Hey MAG, see you here - WTF is this: Oh wow, the NAM has some kind of a small slow moving complex that is ramping up the totals like that. I'd say theres a good chance it's got a bit of a feedback issue to deliver that much QPF.

hckyplayer8
Looking like overnight lows after Thurs are going to be well below average around these parts. IMBY normals are the low 70's. Gonna be looking at the low 60's. Highs looking seasonal.

r-ville
I don't see a whole lotta chances at rain for the upcoming next several weeks (after the storms over the next 1-3 days). Sure we get the troughiness, but where's that leave us vis a vie any moisture feeds? Few, if any of those troughs seem to be deep enough to pull up any copious moisture streams. I totally agree in a general relaxation from the oppressive type heat (90+) as the ridge migrates out to the west and decouples entirely (or so it seems) from the Bermuda HP. canderson
MDT only reached 96 today, kind of a pretty big bust when forecast was for 101.

It's kind of a good bust though, like when you get 10 inches of snow when you were only supposed to get 6.

Models have been very consistent for at least an inch Wed-Fri for most of us. Now, the 4+ stuff, of course that's crazy.

Everybody saying no radiation was released...so I guess everything is fine. West of me sits TMI and East sits Limerick. I am so fd. I toured throughout the Nuclear plant in Surry, VA a few years ago. From what I understand, it would be beyond extremely rare to have enough problems for radiation to be released, especially today.
