Hailstorm
Storms approaching NYC from the southwest are over 65 DBZ but are only 10,000 feet in height and have only 5 VIL on Wunderground? I didn't realize how stable the atmosphere is along the coast. I thought we had 1000-2000 kj of SBCAPE and 30-40 kt. of bulk shear.

LocoAko
My Facebook feed confirms that I was not the only one in New Brunswick awoken from this storm. Wound up with a fair amount of pea-sized hail (which itself is a rarity here), some winds but nothing too nuts, extremely frequently CG lightning and so far 1.07" of rain in about 15-20 minutes.
